what thread

anyone know what thread on scaffold fittings
I have bet a large breakfast on 1/2" whitworth
my mate says 14mm metric

Mate im not your best option, took me five mins to workout you weren't looking for an old written thread about it on here !

7/16 and 1/2 Whitworth neither = 14mm mate

They were 7/16 whitworth as whitworth measures the width of the thread, metric and A/F (Across flats) measures across the flats of the nut ie 21mm for your normal fitting. I don't think there's many 1/2" whitworth out there now.

11.11mm is the same thread diameter as 7/16 whitworth

I stand corrected then Swifty i always thought it was the "Nut" that was the measurement

I dunno swifty we still got em lurkin in the bottom of some of the fitting bins lol...cant beat it watchin the youngens trying to worknout why their spanner dont fit
