You are working two hours from the yard!!

Driving a lorry.

You normal finish time is 4.30pm.

What time should you get back to the yard?

Ragscaff

(Should be interesting)

driving the the lorry is part of your job so back at yard for 4.30 any thing after that is overtime which should be paid accordingly

If your driving a lorry your working and your time finishes when you get the lorry back. If the firm only want to pay you to 4.30 then thats the time you get back to the yard, so if its a 2 hour drive, leave at 2.30.

Trust you Ragscaff, always with the controversy. It's not quite as clear cut as that at aom I'm afraid. During the summer months you don't go home until the job is complete, regardless to what the clock says. Winter is different, you work till 4.30 then drive home. Obviously you get paid from the second you hit the yard till the second you leave.

Interesting, the wagon driver is still working however, the other 2 scaffs i presume, will have there feet on the dashboard, bashing out the ZZzzz's and farting like a pair of clapped out porn stars.

The same as when in a van or your car. They always fart more when its pi$$ing down or freezing so you don't want to open the windows

18.30

If they leave site any earlier (check on the tracker) then dock them the money.

so phil181,would you be paying them from 6 oclock am traveling time as well.also are they on price work or day rate.

Work till the jobs done then drive back to the yard, i dont give a **** as i get paid from the moment i get in until the moment i leave. I would be out on my arse if i left the job at two thirty!

so much as humanly possible i never leave a job unfinished, if i have to i will complete as much of it as possible including hand rails etc etc so if nescessary the client can make a start if need be, before we return to complete the job.

with the price of fuel , vehicle running costs and everything else these days you cant afford multiple visits to jobs and especialy now due to shortage of daylight.

we always do what needs doing then go home , sometimes that means we dont get back to the yard until 6pm , sometimes its 2pm , but i always pay them the full days wages so its give and take and works for us :)

Depends what we got on the next day. If we are pulled out with work then try to complete, otherwise finish at 2.30 and have a nice relaxing drive home:bigsmile:. Unless some b@stard ruins it by cutting you up.
