Tg20:13

I've heard that there gona try and get rid of the WHR some how, and move to a annual review, so it's going to be like corgi, so all scaffolders etc will have to do a yearly course with all the changes they want to implement.

What a load of S#\T, and just another money making NASC idea........

What thr f**K are you on about....TG20 & NASC have got nothing to do with the working at height regulations...WAH is a law...proposed by the HSE and passed through the house of Lords by the govenment...The NASC couldn't change it no matter how much they wanted to any more that you could. The TG20 that you have so much of a problem with is a recomendation on how to use BSEN12811.( The current British Standard coverering tube & fitting scaffolds).

Take a pill m8, what's got your back up.
Like I said, it's just what I have heard, so before you start getting large, why don't we just wait and see.

And yes, it is a law, but as any normal person knows, laws get changed all the time, and the HSE are involved with NASC, so anything is possible.

British Standard (BS5973) was withdrawn from service in 2004 and was replaced/superseded by BS EN 12811

so what have a class BB double instead of a class B double ?things have been worked in conjunction with 5973 for years..... lets say you use the TG20:13 E guide and it gives you a solution to the scaffold you want to build - great - my question is if 2 or 3 designer's worked out the loadings with calculations would they all come to the same figures and would they have the same formulas ?

wont be the same design. ask 3 gangs of scaffolders to build the same job .... wont be the same

Morning Outward,
5973 was replaced by BSEN12811 &10, TG20 is the layman's explanation of how to apply these docs in the fashion of 5973.
The TG then gives all scaffs a typical scaffold to work to obviating the need to consult with an Engineer for every job.

With regard the Designers/Engineers they are more likely to be better qualified to make engineering changes to suit their purposes thus whilst a similar scaffold being used for the same purpose, not actually the same job.

Whilst many know how to build a scaffold that will stand there is a considerable difference between knowing and having the ability to prove it on paper to the satisfaction of all concerned.
regards
Alan
