What is the outcome for scaffolding you guys been doing this job for years so if any one knows the outcome its you lot! With sg4 and everyone else telling us rules and regulations what hope is there for us as professionals in this current day and age?Any way do you lot like system work as peri haki and the american one or do you think that tube and fitting will be with us forever

Tube and Fittings will always be around as there is nothing you cant achieve with it

Good answer mate but do you honestly think 21 ft tubes will be aloud to be used if those muppets have anything to do with it

with all the stuff for tg 20 i think tube and fitting is getting harder and harder to achieve what a safety officer expects to see and will highlight as bad practice

sways across 2 bays
doubles in the corners

underslung tubes

bracing in the way on timber frame/ multi boarded lifts

loading bays with 15 trannies / independant standards

its already near enough killed the tube and fitting staircase

my opinion of course

yea tube is being pressed harder and harder these days esp in the compeditive world we live in now,but its still the best.System has had all these years to topple tube NONE have came close.

As Phillo said T/F will always be there but I think as building designs change in the future scaffolding will become less on such buildings. Don't see it happening in my lifetime or hopefully anyone elses on the forum, but think it will happen.

t&f will aways regin all the changes will only make us the best in the world at what we do/have to put up with after all systems have been around for years and still t&f is still in great demand

system is garbage >

layer is a great system if you got all the components that come wit it,its by far the best system in the world especially for suspended scaffolds, there stair cases are second to none, leave it to the germans, great engineers, also they have 4m hemps, just my opinion,

Most of the Blue Chip Service Co's have self imposed a limit of 16 Ft Tube for hemping out, this is in line with the Manual Handling Regs ( not with standing the new lighter amalgams used in the manufacture of Scaff Tube ).

As for System V T&F---horses for courses bolo that's my view, selection of Types of Working Platforms for the Task at hand---always looking for new Systems new applications and where new applications are found i.e cable suspended work platforms ect, be prepared to accept the new and Train to master their installation. However, with the onset of numerous Prefabricated Systems, in my view, Tube and Fittings is fast becoming a specialism.

Garry...

Have worked with them all and still say T&F is by far the best and most used in the UK especially combined with Ready Lock/Arms or whatever you want to call them...

In regard to system being ex SGB I have got to say Cuplok is by far the best system simply because you need the least components and it is so easy to combine T&F with the system when things get a bit fiddly...

In regard to Layher...Like everything German is very well engineered but it has too many components and the transport logistics are complete rubbish compared to other systems i.e. 28 standards to a pack and 30 decks etc...I never once sent out or back a load that fully utilised the vehicles load capacity.

Are you here to wind people up?

Agree, if you need to use system, cuplok combines well with T/F.

Me, Another Scaff and a trainer put an independent 22m long with a meter high kicker then 6 lifts above up in a 10 hour shift using cuplock (and the step system).
Only top lift boarded but wouldn't have come close to that measure (505ft) using double on double fully rakered lifts!!
This was only last week, back and knee have seized up and iv 2 black finger nails... Nice.

Only problem was using 3 meter toppers on the first and 5th lifts we couldn't use the steps as standards needed topping out?

cuplock is by far the best system ,,, f uck layher

My target when i was on price work was not to go home before we had done a minimum of 20 square and we hit that target every day
2 handed :)

I personally think it depends on the task in which is to be used for....

T&F and system scaffy.. you know im a T&F person myself.
