Stork trade test

Mrbhoy,

Stork's test is a 30 question paper. Multi answer, all be it done over then phone or in their office at a computer. They look for at least a 70% pass.

Questions may include:

what are the minimum amout of guardrails to be used on a scaffold??

A; 2 onshore 2 offshore
B; 3 onshore 2 offshore
C; 3onshore 3 offshore
D; 2onshore 3offshore

Also general questions on scaffolding. If you have not taken a course in the last couple of years I would recommend brushing up on your knowledge.

And general offshore rules questions.

Its nowt to stress over if you know your sh1t.

Little tip though. If its over the phone listen to the questions carefully or read them very carefully. Its not that they try to trick you, but the test has not been designed by any one is scaffolding. On reading some of them they are not quite clear.

You can check your answers before you submit.

Hope that is of some help:).

Cape also do a pre-start Trade Test.
20 questions, not all multiple choice, some written.

Well if those 2 do it, then you can be sure others do, or will eventually start to do them.

Yes - scaff 38 has it bang on. Stork recruitment skills screen all new start scaffolders with OPITO approved questions. These are multiple choice & mostly common sense.

HSWT It is a skills test they do not a trade test. Just to see if you are clued up or not. Nothing to do with how good your finished product is. That will get sussed when you get your first trip.

Can't see the point of it. Lots of people talk a good game of football in the pub. Maybe its a sign that the companies are beginning to realize that these days the training schools are just churning out unskilled men with cards and certificates.

Always said you cant buy experienc......
