Morning lads,

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE JUST HAD THE CALL THIS CONTRACT IS FOR 8 WEEKS MINIMUM

48 hours per week

part 1 - £13
part 2 - £14
adv - £15

hours going up to 9 per day from next week.

can Ii ask how there can only be £2 per hour difference between a part 1 and and an advanced scaffolders rate? a part one can't do nothing on his own and is still a trainee. How the fook can he be worth 13 per hour?

Hi mate, these rates have been arranged by the client and that is generally the difference that clients pay between part 1, 2 and advanced, sometimes with other firms there can be a bigger difference but not a huge amount.

i have just had confirmation that this is now 54 hours per week so 9 hours paid per day.

they dont pay 9hrs a day they take 1 hour off you for breaks so be careful
 
just to let you know they are now paying 10.5 hours paid from tomorrow.

Do they really? I was paid in full for every hour I was on site by Tom and on time!! Octain are probably one of the better agencies out there so how abouts we dont drive them off the forum with stupid little remarks like this!

My old firm....
part I - £12.25
part II - £12.75
adv - £13.25

So not that irregular these days really

well said mate,and believe me theres plenty of part 1,s out there that would scaffold a whole lot better than an advanced,scaffoding is all about useing your brain,If ya can do that well ya have no problem,s scaffolding,I,ve know guys with advanced cards that coudnt even stand a long tube,I have a advanced card but I dont behave the way most scaffs do,tryin to belittle the guys with part 1,2,any how I know guys scaffolding for 25yrs and still on there part 1,are these advance scaffolders,well I think yes,and guess what there all getting top dollar,why?because they have a brain and know how to use it,not the silly little card thats in there ass pocket,

I totally agree with you i've been ticketed since1987 part1...1989 part2.. advanced 2011
never needed gold card until now.
 
well brobarapas has said exactly what i was going to . we ve all heard it "but im advanced " tickets mean nothing ,some of the most useless scaffs iv worked with have been advanced .i usually find its the c*cksuckers and grasses that get put on courses not the best scaffs.

yes im still part 2 . i worked saturday morning with 2 advanced scaffolders who are on 1.50 an hour more than me . they will both admit i am better at the job than them .for a change i said that seeing as they were both advanced scaffs i would labour for them . one of them was going to the match and needed to get away as early as possible . i got all the gear up to them to erect the saddle and waited to see if they needed any more gear . after an hour of them fooking about i got up and erected it with them . so i laboured for it and erected it . so should they be on more ? we should be payed on experience and production not because we have passed a no fail course
 
well that explains it then you have a gold card because the course is fail safe ,you said it.

we were all at the bottom of the ladder,I remember having to build suspended scaffolds on a part 1,with advanced scaffs they might as well be looking up a cows ass,and they didnt even know I was a part 1,they just hadnt the savey to do it,but they sure liked bragging about ther cards,swifty mate you tell them
 
card means nowt to me especially the way they are earned,gold basic or whatever ive never told a man hes doing the droppers because hes advanced hel do the droppers if hes capable.unfortunately now in the great modern era its the level of card that advances you not the level of knowledge.

most of the advanced guy,s out there were all issued card,s in the 70,s when there was no courses,and most of the part 2,s are all access route entry,which went on to be advanced,like ya said ya do the drop downs if your capable,the problem is that some guy,s with advanced card,s cant do it and wont admit it,when it come,s to the crunch,they either have paper work to do,runnin the kazy,or on the phone i,ve seen it so many time,s and most of all they cant read a drawing,
