Hi all,

I know most of you will be sunning yourselfs while you can this time of the day!!

I wanted to communicate our Material distribution service is now up and running.

Most who have used or know of us will know our materials but if you install yourselfs today drop me a line and have a chat about what we provide.

We current offering as follows,

  • Shrink Wrap plastic - Rolls/Pallets (More info on enquiries)
  • Fire retardant shrinking fixing tape
  • Application guns
  • Bonding agent for specialist fixing of material to structures where welding is not possible

Due to our teams being located throughout the U.K. there is also the benefit of having goods placed throughout who can distribute easily otherwise deliverys can be arranged for specific requirements.

We can distribute to anywhere outside of the U.K. so give us a call...

We have been distributing to specific clients who we have trained but have now opened this up to anybody who is currently installing.

Any requirements or need to know our material properties drop me a P.M or contact us 01202 820820 distribution@sca-group.com

Cheers

Just to let the world Know.... S C A have sent a squad of boys to Cork, Ireland this week, to sheet wrap a main thoroughfare bridge we just completed fixing. They have done a top job, cracking lads...

Guess sending me a copy of your price list is asking a bit much sir! (Always worth an ask)

If you have an enquiry fire it over Will and will give you a bell, might be able to help you if you need LPS rated plastic for specific jobs?

Can of course give you a blanket rate schedule but not likely to be much help to you as it will depend on requirements - Worth a try though! :)

Cheers

Scott

I have a question for users of this type of sheeting, what do you all do to get rid of it at the end of the job?

No, none and certainly none that would pay for it, never heard that one. We usually just leave any dodgy gear behind us for the PC to bury but couldn't add that into our enviromental policy.:embarrest:

A mate of mine runs the show at the local tip but the boss's were down from the smoke to pay some guys off so didn't think it was the best time to ask too many questions especially as I was dumping a load of other stuff on the QT like the board retainers that had eventually given up the ghost. Did your gaffer get some of these things and how are you getting on with them?

skip it or fly tip it -- all as per my iso 14001 natrally

would you not discuss this with the client before erection of said works, to be responsible for the proper disposal of shrinkwrap upon dismantling, or should the client request that you dispose of it, add a surcharge with the clients knowledge, to an amount equal to what the council may impose for disposal.

Please dont flytip

It was posted as a laugh Anto, I live in one of the most picturesque places in the country, I have no intention of fly tipping. We did it as a wee experiment and ended up doing it at a loss but as we have never used it before it was a very useful exercise.

We pretty much use them all the time marra depending on where the job is, the wind is never very far away round here so you are never sure. Some of our bigger site jobs have nothing on them at this time of year but all street work and exposed jobs have. I must have had them a couple of years now and do like them.

ahh a laugh I know.... I wasn't directing the fly tip to you personally... I'm aware that you live in a lovely part of the world... it was a generic statement to all....:toung: on another note, when it is cost effective, it makes a fine job for containment... but as I found before, whilst it provides containment... particularly for shotblast, if the client dont hoover up the waste shot after job is done, then it defeats the purpose... for when you come to strip the shrink wrap with your custom made machete.. Ya got shotblast flying everywhere. (but thats just for shotblast jobs):p

Our's was a shot job but to be honest it was pretty tidy when we went back, not sure who cleaned it up though. All in all we were very impressed and are expecting some more work off the back of this one. The old sheeting is still lying up the back of the yard but as you say on future projects may pass the buck to the PC.
