hahahaha we always put the chicken wire on from the platform dropped it down about 3 foot at a time ,could you imagine the HSE if they seen you nowadays , mind you always had to get someone you could trust 100% to drive the hoist down for you otherwise they would drop you 15 foot and find it hysterical , and a lot of them old hoist where gravity free fall , Ace made a lot of the hoist in them days most of them where diesel with a cranking handle to start them
