Portfolio ??

Did porfolio in march as previously posted made my own evidence up used a mates company logo to copy on to employer letter (which was a witness testamony confirmining my competence over the last 15 years on various projects while including the 4 unit jobs ie Hanger, shore,formwork & Roof also used 4 scafftags for the 4 units job description and my signiture on tag also signed for say 3/4 weekly inspections on the back.

then made 4 TBT's with the particular unit Job hazards ie hanger use inertia reel etc. and quote work within compliance of SG410 also put the no job is so important that we can not take our time to do it safely & correctly then IF IN DOUT ASK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All my other certs ie Harness, Cup-Lok, First Aid, Asbestos awarness, computer any training course adds to your Competence but in my opinion the employer (Colleauge) who is CISRS registered is the most important bit of evidence.

Just remember you can't fail any NVQ you can just be advised in what areas you need to improving by your Assessor at no extra charge>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

what part of "YOU DO NOT REQUIRE PHOTOS" are you having a problem understanding.
Any portfolio that required you to provide picture evidence is now finnished....unless you was registered to QUA754 and if that is the case you only have about 18months before it becomes worthless and past its shelf life
Anyone that started a part two after October 2010 will be registered QUA854 and therefore will need to complete the new QCF site diary to provide the evidence in writting and must be able to provide further information by way of a discussion with the assessor in regards to the jobs used as evidence proving that you have a working knowledge and understanding in regards to how the job is assembled complying to BSEN12811 or TG20 and working within the law in regards the working at height regulations....that way we can tell if you are comptent and not just an expirienced slasher that does not know what is required by law....
Once again......IT DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY PHOTOS just a working knowledge for each job required for the level you are working towards

exsperienced slasher think you need to get out and about geoff unless the young lads get the exsperience behind them were makeing a new generation of scaffolders get in the real fooking world i see it every day tickets dont make a scaffolder this forums getting a bloody joke no wonder members would rather watch coronation street than log on

Your right a ticket does not make a scaffolder...nor does just being able to do up a fooking nut..you need to have a good understanding of what your doing for a start and that is what the idea of the portfolio is....Jesus Christ ...why is it all the scaffs I seem to meet each day want to be regarded as a tradesman but do not think they need to spend the 20 days training to get the basic ticket, or the ten more for advanced...and then get so offended because of the fact he has to prove his ability to the awarding body by providing site evidence of the jobs he has worked on..

listen geoff ive had my ticket for 20 years which has been fine ive payed my taxes and national insurance most firms ive worked for are nasc members so the new regs are rammed down our throat all year yes i am bitter and probably will not change the system but why does every trainning provider that comes on here slag the ecitb scaffolder off you being one of them ive learnt from some very exsperienced scaffolders over the years 8.000 scaffolders use the forum weres the other 17,000 scaffolders that work our indusry iam out on a live curcuit most days and to be honnest all the big boy firms think this ecitb is a joke its a money makeing sceme thats put or going to put good men out of work its not over by a long shot but thanks for your concerns
 
Don't let the bast ards get you down dico. 20 odd years experience on some hard demanding power sites has to count for something. The truth is the suits might want to brush the ecitb fiasco under the carpet and with it some of the most experienced men in our industry but anyone with half a brain could spot your skills a mile off.

I know this won't put bread on the table but there is no disguising the fact you could produce reams and reams of paper work describing the work you have done and a like for like ticket should be issued today.

I do understand your frustration and I am sorry if you feel I have slagged of the ECITB scaffolders, but I have read back through my threads and I can't see where I slagged those boys off anywhere. I have only stated what the idustry have been telling everyone for quite some time "It is what they intend to push through" as the HSE has clearly identified where the largest number of reportable incidents have occured for the last few years, and as it involes falls from height our industry is in the firing line.
When I have said slashers I am refuring to all bad scaffolding no mater what ticket if any that they have, and it frustrates me when I see people get signed off by a training provider that clearly can not form a basic square and have no care about their standard of work, and I have seen this on many an occasion I am affraid. As you have said you wont change the system change the system and nor will I, but I will and do stand by what I believe to be correct.
dont forget there is govenment funding availiable that you may well be eligable for that will pay for your training and NVQ at a centre near you.

i should be looking forward to retirement not trainning lol!!!! off to bed now got to get up early for work at 5 as an advanced scaffolder at heathrow as ive got permit and my working party waiting for me cant be late as no one can work still 2012 wont matter coz i will be a part 1 trainee lmfao!!!!
