People using the site, posting in job section then no other input!

...and maybe you should input a little more than free post :S

i have took this on board, and have posted in a couple of other threads on here already, but to be honest the last thing i wanna talk about when i'm finished work is scaffolding,i'm not a young lad new to the game who still likes my job,i've been in the game 15 year and just throw the spanners on to get the pennies in the bank,i know my job and while u still learn on every job u go on,i dont need to come on here asking peoples advice on how to put jobs up etc,i'll talk about shagging, boozing and fighting all day or have a crack about lads i've met in the game through the years, but to be honest talking about harness's or the newest aditions to sg 4 etc just doesn't interest me

Hi All

Thanks for your comments.

As you have said it works both ways. Some people will just look at the jobs threads and then leave, but others will be drawn to the site via the jobs thread and then might turn into regular posters.

Guests can view a 5 threads before having to sign up so it hopefully will give them the incentive to sign up if they want to read any more.

Having a small number of very regular posters as a proportion of total members is generally how forums work. The majority of people sign up to forums, read them everyday and never post.

If I force members to make a certain number of posts before being able to gain access to particular forums then the forum will be littered with a large number of one word posts and poor quality threads.

It's Catch 22!

I totally understand mate, however, .........That Knowledge you have from those 15 years, of scaffolding. Would you not like to contribute it in occasional posts, as you say, we learn everyday, so pass the tips, shortcuts and easy ways down the line.

Thats how the majority of us Scaffs learned the trade. None of this CISRS,NASC,NVQ,H&S touch screen. We learned from the guys at the pointy end. Lets give it back to the new generation of Scaffs, prior to their training.
