Firstly welcome to the forum mark ex service men are very popular on here mate ( rightly so to ) they say only after six months you should consider part 1 however with ur experience and uve probably got the right mind set from being in the army u will pick it up a lot easier than most ppl. I would get your cisrs labourers card first then try and book ur part 1 either for 6 months time or before ( if pos u might have to prove that u have done it before as 6 month exp is mandatory) if you ring around firms and tell them u have booked or are looking to book it I'm sure you won't have much trouble mate

Genuinely hope its works out for u mate best of luck:):)

To get your cisrs labourers card you need to put down your company's details, what's the crack if you haven't got a company but still want your card?? I'm in that dilemma now

Apparently its easier and quicker to become a doctor now days marky. You got 2 years experience so part 1 should be ok for you. A few lads on here reckon an hg licence was a bonus. good luck pal

Welcome to the forum marky, did you get your hgv in the army mate?thats your most valuable ticket to scaff firms nowadays pal,it seems there's an endless supply of ticketed scaffs out there, but the guy with a hgv will be snapped up first, also what area are you in?good luck:cool:

Thanks boys take it the cisrs labourer card is just the part 1.av not got hgv but do have cat c.been looking at the courses for part 1 in Glasgow do I need 2 have an employer b4 I do the course. or can i just go straight for the part 1.what is s.c.c.s?am deriving over in Germany the now but moving back 2 edinburgh end of next month.whats the average wage for a part 1 scaffolder a week?

Marky, your cscs card is basically a health and safty ticket, which would give you a start on sites. cscs operatives is a labourers ticket costs about a score to sit a 10 minute exam in multiple choice. Theres a book with all the Q&Anwers, look on amazon. Your part 1 is not a lab card. You can enroll on a weeks course and come away with your first ticket. Followed by an assessment after 6months.Same for part 2 and on. Theres a load of other tickets as tube and fit, scaffs aint covered to stick up system or pasma,(On Site)followed by aload of other tickets. It goes on and on. Who did you work for before?? Might be a start to give em a call. A company that specialises in residential work might be a better start for you.

Yeah had the cscs b4 but has expired.was wondering what the sccs was.worked for interserve and a small company called LTS.yeah think am goin to start phoning some companys.thanks
