9 hour got home early then paddy ????

Yeah m8

Cant hack it anymore, 16 pints and thats me cattled:D My oldest son gets married next Sat, so i was having a trial session.

Came home popped the tinnies, had a wee chat on the phone with Ragscaff, wor lass was at the hen night. I thought here we go then the world is my oyster. So what did i do? spent the night on here, sad or devoted, ill let you guys judge that.

However, i have made ammends, and admitted i made a mistake, in stating the SF should be members only:embarrest: got put in my place about that, and rightly so. That is the beauty of having a democratic Forum.

Anyway time to have a desperate dan or several.

Regards
Paddy

oh well mate no harm done as they say ,devoted me thinks

Why not ask Admin to set up a facility to lock posts to non members once they have had a certain amount off replies, say for example 10 replies that way more people may join after their appitite had been whetted, but they would be no way of following the posts unless they join up.Its like having somebody reading your newspaper over your shoulder, bloody annoying. The more members the better..

At this current time, 1,880 members. Personally speaking i would make this site members only, as there are far too many just looking at the jobs, or perving our threads. FFs it only takes a min to join, the best scaffolder web-site i have ever seen.

Regards

Paddy Scaffolder (i have the aches and pains to prove it) :D

Lads, how many members on this forum are there now and whats the weekly joining average ?

Hi guys there are currently 1,893 members on the Scaffolders Forum who have made 13,500 posts in total.

In June 381 new members joined the forum and the forum received 17,100 visits in total and 216,000 page views.

I believe that the system that is currently in place works very well. A guest can only view 5 thread before the forum becomes locked and they then need to register to see more threads. When I added this feature it increase signups by a large number.

I believe this is the best system as it gives guests a preview of what is on offer whilst limiting access. As a few people have said, they might not have signed up if they weren't able to see any posts in the first place.

Best Regards

I am not to sure when you set up the site but assuming from your join date of Aug 2009 this was the beginings of a what is a very powerful and informative "voice" within the Scaffold sector.

To have 2,000 members before you have been established less than a year speaks volumes for the content and running of the site.At your current sign up rate of 400 a month you will have around 7,000 members this time next year.
You could quite easily have 10/12,000 members Due to the knock on effect of members informing others of your existence and the google spiders finding your posts and bringing them up on searches (this is how I found the site only a few weeks ago)

I rate a sites "value" on it's content and management and this site scores 100% on both points I know the more members we have the greater clout we will have in getting recognition for representing the grass roots of our industry

This site is unique for many reasons and is not all about member numbers
