Maximum inside distance to inside standard.

Again another job for the SCCR. We are looking at having a definitive list for whats allowed whats not!!! Working to legislation or to recommendation

A lot a paperwork but that is what we are working to:D

well i have answers from 0mm to 300mm , still not 100 % clear on this matter1

Had a slight problem on site where the inside board had to be removed and transoms knocked back for renderers.

This leaves a gap of 275mm to wall from inside standard . With out reading all TG20 again what is the maximium gap allowed prior to an inside handrail being fitted . I thought on a light duty scaffold you was allowed a maximum gap of 300mm to allow a man to seated with his legs dangling.. I could be wrong but a little clarification would be a help.
Ive had the very same problem and was told by the nice HSE inspector the scaffold has to be "as close as is reasonably practicable" sounds like a non discript way of saying make your own mind up ,but if someone falls it wasn't close enough ,therefore your nicked.

true , HSE all ricky and biancas
Hi All
"No gap to give rise to risk of injury" is the law and that is what you will get nicked for. I have a site where that includes the 50mm between inside and main deck boards!!!!!!
300mm was the excepted gap in the old BS no longer load of bolloX but there you go
