Man killed by falling tube

Just got a text from the missus's brother who is working in london lancaster gate. He says he saw the deceased stood below the scaffolding when a tube fell from the 4th lift , apparently ripped half his face off.

i got hit on the head with a five foot tube end on ,about 7 years ago , gave me 40 stitches and only fell 2 lifts cant imagine the damage from 4 lifts or a longer tube
 
From what i heard at 2ish today a tube was dropped on a keltbray demo job, we got a call cos someone thought our firm was on there. It was dropped by a person from the firm Artell into the smoking area. This is what i heard via chinese whispers so the details may not be spot on. Why the hell is the smoke area directly below the scaffold i ask?
 
o dear.. keep informed with details but yes i agree dont name the company at this point .. untill facts are clear

The person who sent me the text actually saw it happen and said the deceased was having a smoke below the scaffold

are you F ING serious
you are talking all this rubbish and not one of you know anything about what happened.....as in an eye witness

EVERYONE always adds bits on to a story(which im sure you will know)

why dont you keep your mouths F**king shut........
someone has died in that accident......
totally bang out of order.......
and as for naming a firm your just a f**king bullsh*t talking c**t
call yourself a scaff,
wan*er more like

Not true everything i've posted comes from an eye witness , i've added nothing. Get a grip

This is a tragic loss to a human life. I would like to convey our deepest condolensces to the family of the Deceased on behalf of the Scaffolders Forum.

Our aim is not to 'Blame or Shame' on this tragic accident. Let the HSE and Police, carry out the investigation.

Let us all whether Scaffolders or not, Show our respect for the tragic loss, and let the family grieve in peace.

Well put Paddy ....and I think everybody is thinking the same thing on this matter..
 
I know feelings get to run a bit high here sometimes but please lets remember this is a PUBLIC forum, open to anyone to view.

Tragic accident indeed.

As soon as theres anymore info, please let us know. Lessons to be learnt for all of us here I think.
