Hi lads could some one explain to me please what the role of man in attendance is please thanks

Man in attendance is basically moving hop ups. alterations, done a few myself, seems to be a thing in scotland rather than england.

Drinking lots of tea, waiting for very MINOR alterations (moving a tie etc.) whilst a window is installed, something like that

Man in attendance...main scaffold contractor builds the Scaffold access, staircase, loading bay, pean lifts , T/F edge protection around pean lifts, boards out lifts and places hop ups internally for roof edge ( roofers) , and 1st lift for the Brickie...fixed once only...there after under instruction from the contractor a qualified competent person can move the scaffold hop-ups up and down, the MIA DOSEN'T carry out a structural changes to the MAIN SCAFFOLD.
The scaffold is handed over to the MIA as per accordance with TG20 / SG4 handrails toe boards etc ...scaffold is deemed safe fit for use... MIA maintains the scaffold the same way it was given to him, no open edges and no voids nothing removed nothing added....A good MIA should keep a diary/ photographic catalogue of minimal alterations handrails removed, boards removed elevation, lift etc..help you out one day you get the blame for something you know you didn't do..🫡
