You must have had some good numbers mate. My nights of pts work were flat out once we got possession it was allways rush rush rush.

Dont get me wrong there was allways a lot of standing around waiting for possession but once they got it they wanted the graft out of you.

Could have changed now though

Snap MH and you still get moaned at the end of it must admit only been on a couple of little jobs/stations but I've always been under the illusion that pts work was the pinnacle of the scaffolding world ie for £££ and the work but in truth the aura surrounding it didn't match my expectations thought it was all a load of bollox tbh but as I said only done couple of little sites and it was for tones lol

What does tones pay for a shift nowadays bobby just out of intrest
 
Its normal £££ for possesion work ie 5 hours or so ( but think u still have to be there for the 8 in some cases) 10 hrs its £50 and 12 £100 extra I was on £130 so a 12 would have been £230 mate

We were getting £175 for engineering hours(1-5) from tones back in 2002, it just shows how the money has gone down!

The days of PTS work being a doss are long gone now, the last couple i've done, you've been flat out as soon as you got possession!
 
The hours are very unsocial too so I'm not as keen on it the only good £££ that I've heard was the farrington for stanfords (while ago I know) and phd on liverpool st that makes it worth it but it rules ur life ie u cant go out on the plss and enjoy yourself properly if you know what I mean gunny ;) the 10hr a day plus sat morning I'm doing now will suvice for me
 
don't get me wrong Bobby mate, it does make a good bit difference to your wages packet and even £250 for a 12 hour shift is better in your pocket - to some people that's a weeks wage. We could all quote jobs where they have thrown money at us, them days are long gone though - the snides and the foreigners have put paid to that!
 
Well in a nutshell yep gun, but I do think it is picking up ( not like the old days granted)

I may be wrong with what I'm about to say but........ I think the reason we aint getting the same touches with the £££, job and knocks etc is down the amount of shlt that gets into the office, the amount of ' office bods' that run sites and even companies is shocking and the amount of respect they show scaffolders is even more shocking, in the old days ur guvnor was always an old boy that couldn't walk from a bad back and used to scream at the site manager on ur behalf even if u were in the wrong but now I've had supervisors with 2 years site experience and because they obviously don't have the boys respect they try and get back at u by knocking ur wages or as u referred to grassing you up ( and more often than not the client! ) Petty stuff in other words

I think the above is a more serious problem than the foriegners in truth gunny as they earn there £££ and usually very decent. Again its mho
