Evening lads in need of advice that only you gentlemen can give

Right had a phone call from the above earlier about starting on the 6th of jan, now I'm expecting another call from another relevant person about wages etc just to dot the I's and cross the t's tmrw

I do however know its 7-5 monday to thurs and till 4 on friday + weekends.the job is quite far for me (becton/barking I think) but only for a few months as they have "a lot" of work starting in the city (which obviously I want lol)

Now I've asked about there sister company on here before (can't remember name) but the start is direct for LOR has anyone worked for them directly cheers lads

They're a Main Contractor up here Bobby. Don't know if they carry their own scaffs here. Worked on a a site or two of theirs I'm sure.

Yeah I've done a few in truth but obviously on the other side of the fence stoned would be interesting I know they have liverpool st station

Pay all there scaffs off up here.

But i know one off them was they years.

But when no work on site scaffolding they expect you to muck in with other trades.

He got well look after, best to make your own deals with them.

Depends if you don't mind doing that, just over a year ago I was on for a railway specialising agency for bam, it was sweet for the first month. Good hours and little graft, just wee alterations. When the scaffolding work died down though, the boy asked me to muck in with the civvie boys digging trenches n all that sh*t. Lasted till morning tea break then told him 'sorry mate I'm a scaff, not into this' and f@cked off.

It's the same down here bobby, I got a mate on Liverpool st station now, he's driving dumpers bobby when there is no scaffolding to be done, and moving ply for the chippys.

Its something to think about bob. Can you cope with doing other shiit when your not scaffolding, cos i know i wouldnt.

There is that benjo, but could you put up wi some paddy screaming at you whilst digging a trench.?

That's what I'm sayin den, I've done this for years, and am good at what I do so I'm not goin to 'muck in' just to keep a position goin. It's all numbers on these jobs. Personally, after f@ckin that off I was out the following week for another firm for a few weeks up till Xmas then f&cked that one off and started with Lyndon on the Hydro in Glasgow in January.

As den says Bobby, something to consider when thinking on it.

Don't mind mukking in at phd on the olympics at greenwich I helped set the ground for the bridges but that was for my guv fook doing it for a paddy groundworker, don't get me wrong I love the irish but at work they are mental to work for (so make u right there den)

Hac80 me old mukka yep that's what I think it will be even the bloke said briefly its not hard work but was on one of their jobs in march and they done the hoist tower/run off as well as the walk ways so fingers crossed it won't be just handrails
