Do you know all your knots but the propper way not the lash it up way

knot forgotten by leftfield class
oh hold on this isnt song association apologies
as for knots thats a given or at least should be
dont think we will need oor Allen in the Gulfs input on this one Gents;)

The rabbit verse is how I i was taught & how i teach labourers how to do a rolling hitch....not a song thread lol

Knots that I have useful are,
The truckers hitch.
Timber timber hitch.
Rolling half hitch.
Figure of eight.
Bowline hitch.
Crown knot.
Soft eye splice.
All very useful knots that young scaffolders should be taught.
A good length of rope can be the third man in the gang, but is only as good as the men at the end of it.

Very true Tony ,
But to me the most useful bit of kit is not the rope but the light line
The amount of times it's made my life so easy is unreal and it's becoming a forgotten art mate .
How long does it take to teach a young gun a simple knot ,
I can't believe they can't grasp it ,
And as for showing them a simply dolly knot to tie down a load you would think its brain surgery your asking them to perform ,
This stuff was always your first learning curve in the game

@ Phillio…a lost art indeed…however, for Green Hands the B.S. Double rolling hitch and the Timber hitch may suffice for now, together with a Scaff manual Handling introduction all can be done by the lead Hand and monitored on the job...

Yes Bobby. I am a member of the World Double Tiger Knot Tiers Society. We meet every eight and a half years in Tibet. At the last meeting in June 2010 there were only six of us in the world.
