Hey iv wrote on here about london before cause i was planning a move, but now im seriouse sick of scotland in general, crap weather all the time pretty much crap everything. So what are my prospects for working in london? We will be moving just outside centre.... Also i am part 2 tube and fit trained but use system all the time.. I probably would need to find mu feet with tube, will companies have a problem with that? Cheers in advance..

Who you been working for in Edinburgh buddy? Realistically think of it from a businesses perspective they will expect you to be able to do the job you are applying to do, and if your not up to par are likely to get papped pretty swift mate especially the way work is the now there is always someone else set to take the next mans job unfortunately!!! There is a demand for system scaffs growing down south but they tend to want it endorsed on the card

Through agency... Interserve among other companies. I havent sat final assesment yet so still would be classed as part one... Mabey give me a bit of leigh way? The new rules for sytem being on your card is *****.. I put myself through my trqining qnd chose tube and fitting and now have to be trained on system too...

Whats your name mate i worked for interserve for a good while, probably crossed paths!

The system endorsement on the card is only like a 2 day thing you do its not 2 week course, unfortunately it seems to be asked for when using system down south even tho most us scots use it day in day out. . .As for the final assessment thing its gonna depend on the companies you try to get work with really, much the same as up here but obviously to get in where the big bucks are your gonna need to get it done and out the way! have you contacted any companies in london yet? tested the water so to speak

Ally feeney. Yeah contacted some good job prospects, i will have it done in august but thought it might be good to go as a trainee get some experience before i say im a full part 2..

The name doesn't ring a bell this time! Anyway. . . . best of luck with moving down mate im sure you will get sorted and plenty guys on here will keep you right and give you heads up on rep of companies, in mean time get registered with a few agencies down there, be honest about the card situation and i bet you will get some offers swift! i still get calls for jobs here there and everywhere from agencies i forgot i even contacted!!

I get the odd call from manpower hahahaha!! i will have a look for some numbers i might have and pm you them i worked outside london for a wee bit, stay clear of a company called airwright i came close to getting down to london after lots of promises and there was no bloody start for me had i gone!! All the best mate

Sorry to hear you have had it with Scotland Mr Edinburgh but we all get itchy feet from time to time. I wouldn't worry too much about being a bit behind with the tube and fit as we were all in that position at one time or another as well. I would apply for any job you want but keep your mouth shut and your eyes open, stay on the ground or the middle of the paddy for as long as possible and tell your new work mates you don't mind labouring for a few weeks till you see how they do it before you go steaming in. A good thing that worked for me on my first trip off shore was manning up to my supervisor and explaining the situation to him. He kept an eye open for me and put me right on a few things on the QT. You won't be long in getting up to speed and wondering why you even let it bother you. I hope the move works well for you but in all honesty you may find you are just swapping one set of problems for another except now no c@nt will understand a word you say.

Haha thanks mate put me at ease a bit, the moves not just for me my wifes ann art teacher and cant get work here. Thanks for replies

This lads genuinely alright. Worked with him at denholms and he ain't scared 2 have a go. Couple of weeks ally ul be fine with the t & f, u probs won't get ur full part2 rate without ur assesment an the experience but I'm sure you can sacrifice that for some priceless knowledge. Best of luck buddy will keep my ear to the ground...

Phd access do lots of tap tap & leyher also, They are in London
