Fukcing hells bells sp, I just looked at the pictures. Half your fingers missing man. I bet that is throbbing. Keep that clean, you don't want to get any nasties in that.

I'd like to say it looks wose than it is but i cant lol...the agent saw the trail of claret going towards the canteen & followed it, so yeh although my embarrassement wanted to keep it low profile he insisted in went into the book.

Trouble is the more i try & protect it the more i keep knocking it...

The other thing SP. with it going in the accident book its an accident with an iw. soon we'll end up having to do training on them cos its a mechanicle tool. you know some hse twaat will want to enforce a new rule or a new card for its use.

Already thought of that ....just told him a fitting slipped & caught my finger (technically a white lie i know lol)

Lol mara as soon as that plastic splint touches the open skin i'd be screamin me head off again...i just put a load of savlon on it & padded it out with a couple of bits of melolin dressing stuck down with micro tape...looked like ET phone home lol...couple of days & should be fine fingers crossed(or not in my case)

after 3 days of that and homes under the hammer you will be in more pain mentally than you have ever been

Could always go to trent bridge and cheer the boys on against the aussies. sunshine and beers and slating the oz's..

That's a sore one for sure sp, I will try and remember to keep my fingers clear in future.

Alistaire, your the boss, dont risk it. Can something like this happen when fixing?

To be honest Frederick its news to me, the worst I have had is when trying to free seized fittings and the T bolt spinning on me. It obviously can happen though, was sp not fixing?

Just read the first post, he was striking. The same thing has happened to me a couple of times but no more than an eye waterer. Think he may have been hellava unlucky to do that damage. One other difference is we use a lot of presco fittings.

Bit to watch then. As Gary mentioned back of a sleeve spinning. Could well be a course coming up soon. Hopefully hundreds of scaffs reading this will take note.

This is the latest in a series of incidents concerning Impact Wrenches. It highlights just how dangerous power tools can be in the hands of untrained people more used to solely lifting heavy things and utilising hand tools.
Thankfully the NASC and HSE have joined together and will soon announce that all Impact Wrench using scaffolders will have to attend an annual mandatory course in the safe use of these tools. These courses are expected to take 2 days and will cost 600 pounds.
