We usually buy 313 or 315 then put uprated springs on approx Β£300 fitted and you can guess the rest superscaff ...........

we had the 311 cdi,s bought brand new at the time , told merc what we were using them for and they came with all uprated stuff plus tow bars, they carried 2.5 tonne easy even up bank , so Ive been told anyway , the low ratio gearboxes were a dream

Sorry about that. Where would the best place be to loOk for a sprinter then??

Get 3 ton on ours mate front end dont look to clever , i had 5 ton on a transit double cab once ha ha

Buy what dude vans or springs

Ours carried alloy tube fittings and safety netting, you couldnt get any more on by 2.5 ton due to bulk of load.

You need to convert your lads to using mainly shorter tubes, only carry bout 12 21ft tubes over cab , use these carefully and jobs still go up rapid enough especially 20ft towers use 2 for first ledgers and 1 at each end of outer standards , this allows advanced guardrail and everything else , then use 8s n 13s, 5s n 16s, 2 x 10s etc etc you get all your staggers the lot  load pick up so the loads are very even and work out your tubes for joining to match the load, saves fortunes on brake pads and over loading of front end .

To be honest mate was hooing to get a truck for a bargain Β£1000-3000 but if the right one comes up there is room for adjustments. Im just starting up wanted to keep costs as low as possible for now.

Yeh we mostly just send 13s and 16s out makes the load look better πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Shame just sold 2 x 2001 sprinters Β£800 each prior to xmas

Few bits on ebay just search "dropside" or "chassis cabs "

clarey see whats about , if stretching a bit further needs doing do it , merc is by far the most reliable , you will no regret it, if you handy with motors or know someone have a look round for insurance jobs that need bit tlc , end of day its only engine an running gear that counts and merc wont let you down , cosmetics earn you nowt.

Like for like now mate - aint no cheap ford parts with a tranny xx

Scaffy,What do you think of the isuzu nkr ,seen a few and carry a decent load.

Cheers Scaffy, been looking for a while for a cheap truck for occasional use, some good info coming off this thread, so deleted front wheel drives off list. How about the LDV's,seem to be a sturdy truck, tho not very fashionable.

All bout what you want to spend fred , likewise canters are also quiet good not cheap for parts tho
