Sorry if this has already been raised on here, I have been away..
I have heard the NASC are going to ensure all gold card holders have to do an assessment to renew their cards!!
Is there any truth in this?

Refresher and practical assessment yes from end of 2014/Jan 15 launch. Then every 5 years afterwards.

It's going to be annually Dave Mosley said last week.

What if you have received your gold card in the last couple of years!!
We supposed to have passed but then need to pay to be reassessed??
 
gas safe plumbers have to do it every 5 years at a cost of 150 pp i think its a good idea everythign constantly changing and if your working for a firm who just dosent give a fek you going to get left behind
 
i agree mara to a certain point but any scaffolder thats been in the game 30yrs plus isnt going to learn a lot more apart from a bit of red tape nothings changed even the trainning centres are dated and need of a up lift!!!!! as for gold cisrs tickets there nothing but a job buyer there given out these days like eggs

And just what will it involve?its not the money I object to,it's sitting in a feckin classroom being told how to suck eggs,meanwhile back at the ranch the real work gets neglected,and we're expected to pay money for the privilege,cheeky grabbing baskets:mad::mad:
 
its a good idea in principle
only if you work for one of the very few NASC Companies
the very same BIG Companies who are more and more using AGENCY workers who are MORE and MORE being forced to work UMBRELLA shiit
who will have to pay for this crap themselves,while loosing out because they have to do it on their own time and will probably loose out on work because they had to sit it:mad::mad:

who pays for the lads cscs when employed? i would say 90% of the companie do that actually have wrok the requires the cscs building site etc. obvusl if your the gaffer your not wanting to pay put .




thing do change and quiet a lot tg every 5 years etc some lads i know think a sway should be every 100ft. and what should it be lads???????
 
Will I get all access areas to willy wonkas chocolate factory if I have a gold card?
 
every 4th bay to fall in line with system and european regs
but its being changed as they fecked up the tgs so what happens when youve done the refresher or whatever they call it and then the goalposts sorry tgs get changed because as with the curret set of bawlicks are unworkable:mad:

again who is going to pay for the crap
the working man not the BIG BOYS
 
nasc and cisrs have really exploited their greed to make even more money from us to do our job you need more tickets than a bus conductor in our life time you can be expected to pay thousands of pounds out of our own pockets just to stay afloat greed in life just goes to show what your up against the more you have the more they want
 
Q: What is the process for renewing my CISRS card?


All existing cardholders will be required to renew their cards in line with the scheme. Cards are required to be renewed at the following frequencies:


Scaffolding Labourer Card valid for 5 years. Initial Trainee Cards are valid for 18 months within which time a trainee must commence CISRS training and undertake a minimum of Part 1 Training course.


Trainee Cards can be renewed for a further 18 month period if the trainee has completed a Part 1 course. They would be expected to complete their Part 2 and VQ Level 2 within this second 18 month period.


Scaffolder Cards are valid for 5 years


Advanced Scaffolder cards are valid for 5 years


Scaffolding Supervisor Cards are valid for 5 years


Card holders are required to renew their cards by completing the relevant application form and level of CITB H&S Test (or equivalent) within 2 years of renewal.
