just wondering on how most of the blokes on here feel with regards to loyalty to the firm or firms you work for. Do you prefer to stick things out on the same firm, does boredom kick in and you jump ship, or do you just enjoy being a free spirit all the time, to work with new faces and try new things even though the grass may never be greener

Whatever makes you happy I am at the best firm I have ever worked for coming up to 4 years longest I have ever been at 1 firm .

loyalty doesnt exist?
used to fly about on the spanners, then tried to settle as as supervisor and then a manager, you still get sh@t on from top brass, same the world over.

dont quite agree lads i have worked for a couple of really good firms over the years, i always found that the bigger firms are the worst because your just a number and it dont mater how hard you work or how good of a saffolder you are at least with the smaller firms you know everyone and people know how good you are and what you can do.
(Mind you i have worked for some really horrible firms as well :sad2

ive worked for a few smaller firms in and around Bristol for a few years before i went offshore and you still get sh"t on most of the time from a great height.so in my opinion they are not much better than the bigger firms..
4 years is the longest time i have work with one firm without being paid off and in the end i just got bored of working for the same firm...

I suppose the boy's who work with me would be better qualified to answer this but I feel I try and cultivate loyalty from the older couple of boy's, and train the young team full well in the knowledge that they will head for the lights at the first opportunity. Of all the one's who have left in the past 11 years only one guy has never come back at one time or another. I don't blame the boy's for looking as I did it plenty myself and I never hold a grudge but the grass is not always greener.

at the end of the day,its dog eat dog out there,and were all chasing the money.we all hear of the jobs somewere for £1000 a week,we all go to them,only to find its not so,just a ploy to get men to work for cheap labour rates,by the time you have your first wage from them,its to late.
