Another guy not contacted by CISRS or ECITB to up grade. How many more are there?

How inconsiderate of them.

Maybe they should have hired Mystic Meg to help trace him to the oil rig in East Africa he was working on at the time...

Bloody Acts of Parliament! - always gets in the way of proving competence with a generic looking CV...

the rate shouldnt change while your going from ecitb to cisrs whilst your doing the so called trainning this ticket should paye the same rate wether you have a part 1 or a part 2 cisrs ticket waiting to be signed off this is what ive heard the unions have said perhaps mr kevin williams of unite may exsplain with a email to hes branch. i also have a telephone number i was given by mr williamson and he said he would try and help the ecitb scaffolder were he can anybody wants it private message me and i will pass it on although mr mosley dosent accept the ecitb he has quoted with mr williamson that employers should paye the rates on this ticket why the cisrs trainning is being commensed but!!! did state that it was down to the employer. so why are some playing ball and some arnte also your a great poster phill but sarcasium when this scaffolder is out of work ante on mate. the blokes well exsperienced above most idiots that come on here the sights full of kids with tickets that talk about whats the best spanner or belt and people wonder why the exsperienced scaffolders dont bother with this forum. iam not going to go over olde ground as most people are igorent with the ecitb ticket and dame right rude. like to see a few with a cv like that with a cisrs ticket ragscaff think theres a few ecitb lads with that sort of cv but most have retired through olde age tickets dont make scaffolders exsperienced does i know 2 x cisrs scaffolders that cant scaffold when a member of there gang goes on holiday or takes a day off so it ante all about tickets

Ah let's not let fact get in the way of a bit of propoganda!

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of it, you're barking up the wrong tree. If you really have an issue with the situation then I suggest you go and see your local MP.

sorry to open a can of worm here only asked as i wasn't sure if it was ecitb or citb that you got grandfather right with, and was only asking as a few years ago a fella got a wagon and some gear got a couple of lads and they were knocking it up 4 him. never touch a scaff tube next thing his got his tickets, threw the grandfather rights. i know there argument both sides and this has happend exprienced lads missed out and in exprienced lads got it and yet his twisting away now and again and isnt to good by the sounds of things .the way i see it form people views both systems havent work how they should but am part of the new system as are a lot of good scaffolders and bad but just because its not done how it use to be dosent mean its w@nk

Because the system isn't there for guys like this anymore.
The system is there to make money and to make people jump through hoops. It's done in the name of health & safety when everyone knows it's turned into a cash machine.

Mind you, the same system allows Part 1 cards to be dished out to people who haven't picked up a 5ft tube in their life before. The same system produces Part 2 (supposedly) qualified scaffolders who are completely clueless.

The problem has been getting steadily worse over the years but personally I think it turned into a joke when NVQ's were introduced. It was hardly progress to introduce the need for course applicants to draw pictures of the scaffolds they have (allegedly) erected.

I might be dumbing it down a bit but how can anyone take NVQ's seriously when you can actually get a NVQ for washing a car? Sorry, car valeting and vehicle preparation.

nvq = trade well in most cases any how, the nvq in trades show that ya can and have done this kind of work on the job for 2 years after college along with 2 years at college and the system thats in to day seem like its getting abused as did the system previous, an no 1 can say that a scaff under cisrs it any better nor worse than a scaffolder from ecitb

Sorry Phil the local MP might be the one that took the back hander to start this in the first place. How, many scaffolders died in the last ten years compared to road workers? ( whilst carrying their normal duties)

How much change in legislation between the two?

How many people employed in scaffolding compared to road works?

Then work your NASC magic!!

Scaffolders who have put their life times work into this industry have been f**ked sideways.

Sorry if I am just a scaffolder who does not work for a major firm or does not wish to. I put a very good job up which complies to all the crap these days & still manage to take a wage home despite no help what so ever from the NASC our so called industry body. When are they going to invest in the future & not their pockets???????????????????

Why would it matter if more road workers are killed than scaffolders? Any death is unacceptable in my opinion.

More to the point, you seem to keep pointing to figures on actual deaths. Would a broken leg, a broken neck or a similar injury not have any concern for you, or do you just make all of this up as you go along?

As for the NASC, why do you keep referring to them? You seem happy to pick-up on their guidance and technical data, but you don't actually want to contribute anything towards their development (financial or other)

If you really want to contribute, then why don't you spend your time developing your own systems of work, instead of rubbising other people's without offering any viable alternative.

I look forward to reading the SCCR technical manual on tube and fitting scaffolds...

Oh have you got bored of staring at your lake, or did you just decide that the only way to win a petty argument would be to change threads and try to gang up on me like a little girl?

Losing an argument? Just resort to cheap insults and incoherent ramblings. Actually, you'd fit in well with the SCCR....

Yeah maybe mate, another 6 weeks yet till the next one so I'm getting a little tetchy.

It doesn't really matter about your opinion on the ECITB saga Pip. The facts are there CISRS scheme owners, Unite officials crapping on their members etc. etc.

Angola is nice this time of year Pip.
