Perhaps it is a sad indictment that I have elected to self sponsor and re validate my Industry and Offshore Credentials ( and have done so for years ), however, indeed one must speculate to accumulate, furthermore, I feel no allegiance to any Organisation and jack at will if I do not like regime under which I find myself working. It is a sign of the times that one must take autonomy of one's Career---Scaffs are doing it for them selfs---there are always claw back opportunities :cool:.

Iv just read the link with interest---Commercial differences are cited for the discord between both Organisations---where will this leave the CISRS Cards ???will the NASC recognize this as an opportunity to take control of Training ?, indeed, have the NASC engineered a rift for this purpose ?.

Very interesting but what will happen to us ?

Who will renew our cards ?
Do we still need a touch screen test ?
What will happen to training courses ?
Will we have to carry out new training for the new cards that will come out ?
How much will it cost to register ?
How much will the new card last ?

Ragscaff have the SCCR discussed this at any meeting (on the QT)

As has often been discussed here, is the standard of training and the easily acquired qualification's been the straw that broke the camels back. ?
 
Garry I would like to think who ever is going to take charge of the shower of **** they will at least listen to what we have to say. Inshala LOL as they say to everything out here (god willing) LOL

Perhaps your right---I would go further and suspect ( as eluded to in the link ) Commercial and Fiscal consideration way have a big bearing---in other word feckin greed by either one or both parties.

Assalaamo Alaikum---which ever Organisation takes over the Training regime I hope that the SCCR will be invited to the table---this Forum has demonstrated that we the Scaffold Erectors have the time and resources to contribute too, indeed Operate out own Industry---lets face it we could not do a worse job eh ???

If we are going to make a difference we need to increase the membership!

We are currently working on a system for companies under the SCCR banner to be able to approach the main contractors with confidence that they can obtain the work just as well as any NASC member.

We can work this but need the membership to grow.

The big difference between us & the NASC is we have grown from grass root scaffolders & will always remember that!! Our membership controls who is in power every year have a voice!!

Gary the working class now are no longer the same, Quote in press most people in the uk now class themselves as middle class ,Maggie Thachter stand up and be counted ,the working class of this country where giving the chance to own there own house ,fair enough all for that did it myself ,but a lot of the uk workforce suddenly changed,guys who i had worked along side for yrs who where the first to put the hands up for half day piss up did not want to no when a genuine issue came up,it from maggie doing that you got people falling out with each other the comrade went out of the industry ,the management new and took advantage over the fact that people would toe the line now they had a morgage, there are a few pals who i have a drink with who are due to retire soon can not wait to get out of it ,young bucks not been in the job two minutes telling them what to do ,i missed the camarade when i got out and went into safety but i dont think i could except the conditions now
 
Denbo, thats a great point re the mortage, never looked at it like that before. Pile the debt on the worker and he'll be subservient. Much like the days of the peasants of old, do the masters bidding or get evicted.
 
The point is we need more SCCR Members to take on various Posts like Media Propaganda---the SCCR Committee Chairman and the associated SCCR Committee Sector Chairmen can only do so much---

SCCR NEED MORE MEMBERS to take on various roles---we have 6 K + members on this forum---where are all the recruits OR is it every Man for himself ?...

Gary i have been out of the loop for a few yrs mainly been working in the irish republic, and the uae,need information regarding SCCR ,sounds exactly what i have been rabbiting on about for yrs ,scaffolders do need there say ,companies need there say ,everyone in the industry needs to stand up and be counted , to many rights have been chipped away from scaffolders , with out most scaffs realising, quite happy to go with the flow, i am now retired with plenty of time on my hands and would love thev challenge.

Does the sccr have a press officer,would that help???? The sccr aims and the cscs farce must be newsworthy. sccr members and hundreds of 1000s being bumped around and ripped off.What does are HSE doing about it?
