Disadvantages of System Scaffolding

you generally cant drop a job take it to next site and put it up unless its straight runs.

client won't want to pay for lost/damaged gear coz of the expense.tube is cheap

base lift makes it very hard to clad building to the ground

alterations are a nightmare. try moving a standard

makes it too easy for painters plasterers chippies to remove handrails braces etc

good for a straight run tho

t&f... a tube is a standard, ledger, brace, spur, transom... all on size... system.. what it is is what it is... fcuking hate the stuff... if a moron does not order the correct stuff for a job, then the job is a no go. anyone who loves cuplock or similar is a faggot and is not a real scaff... its all mecano/lego for those who can not understand how to brace a standard.

It has got its place, just generally not on a building site

you only have to be one component short and the jobs fecked

every tom, ****, and polaski fecks it about and you get the blame

its costs too much in comparison to T&F and the labour savings can only go towards the future compensation you will have to pay to deaf scaffs:cry:

is there a system out there that dosen't use some T&F within it?

And bamboo is a system of scaffold

No but it requires lengths of bamboo and lashings which is how scaffolds were put up in the old days in UK with timber and lashing.
To be a scaff you should be able to provide a suitable safe working platform with whatever material you have!!

Or have not!

haha, you should be able to do a multi with just a couple of ledgers and 3 standards.

Aom , Yes I agree Terry should put his word in on this subect but unfortunatly he was banned sometime ago for telling the truth. Lets start the Bring "FINER" back petition. My thoughts are any system is fine aslong as you have all the correct components. T&F is a system at the end of the day.

What did Terry get banned for Steve :D . Maybe you should link this thread to linkedin :D

maybe you could add the links Ian. Im a busy bloke ya know.
