Just to say hello to all out there.
Dubai is desperate now with most scaffolding jobs taken by chancers who wear shirts and ties and who would melt if they were on a site now!!!

You got that right mate, they would not melt though, cant get them out of the office, thats why they wear shirts and ties, would love to name a few, but would'nt be doing myself any favours and i am not a grass or a back stabber,
Amazing how they surrive, i never did have the gift of the gab myself, thats why i am back here and many of the chancers are still there, the genuine guys know who they are and beleive me i have met a few that i would not p on if they where on fire.

So is the work picking up again out there mate? I missed out on Dubai by 3 days when i left PHD Access on Dublin Airport. The boys got sent out to do a massive birdcage on the Atlantis when it set on fire before the grand opening.

leeds boy i worked on dublin airport for phd.must have been after you.did you build that big access tower on the front.was willie cowie there then bob

As far as i know mate, things are not that good, new contracts are few and far between, many companies are struggleing to survive, i keep in contact with a few real supervisors mates out there, so i keep up to date with whats going on.

I'm not 100 percent on benchmark. Never worked for them. Thought bernie had some hand in the firm. Perhaps someone can shed some light on it for me?

Did'nt go to Saudi mate, went over to AL-Futtaim Carillion in Dubai, should have stayed with Laith, would have still been there. but chased the money as you do, and paid the price, thats why i m here now.

thought bernie was just phd mate

Back home and got chance to read all the posts, thought phd and benchmark were linked and was always under the impression Bernie was part of Benchmark, obviously not. MY BAD!!!!!!

I knew a guy worked for Carillion.
That airport job in dubai is massive. That must have kept you busy running that.?
Heard that Oman is supposed to get busy over the next few years?

Who is he? Dont know about Oman, but just got email from mate in Dubai, carillion have been awarded Abu Dhabi Uni contract, accordingley its the biggest contract they have ever been given in U.A.E.
Yes mate Airport was huge, but i was fortunate to have many good onsite foreman, plus another expat who did a fantastic job on the basement areas and baggage handleing systems,
