CISRS card aren't recognised out here, its just I don't want to lose my UK cards , but having to fly back to do a 5 min test is not good... I have 3 cards to renew aswell.... my Canadian card I think lasts 5 years and its pretty much same deal as ours to renew... if we move back to the UK I wouldn't bother renewing canadian one though....

I got to renew. Adv card, supv card, Adv inspection card, cost me about £100 for 15 mins..... £600 for flight,, £100 for train from heathrow, etc.. so going to cost me about a grand minimum...

I had much correspondence with the powers that be a few years ago over this subject. Their view was the card is only recognised in UK so if you want to work in UK then come back an do the test.
No mention of having to start again. You just need to have proof of your training and verification that you are still involved in the industry. Would make an interesting test case if someone who had been overseas for years was prevented from working due to the CITB's inability to set up testing centres overseas.

Once you have you CISRS card you have it for life (Basic or Advanced).

The H&S is CSCS affiliated and is only needed for site work in the UK.
The BOSIET and CCSNG give you health and safety tickets to the corresponding industries, so you only need the H&S for the kind of work you're doing.

The CSCS has o be renewed every 5 years to keep working on UK sites, if it runs out, just sit the touch screen test and they will send you a new CISRScard with the CSCS hologram on it with a new 5 year date on. You don't have to start again.

The BOSIET lasts 4 years, and if done again in the last 3 months of it's term then you only have to do a half day refresher to keep it, if you let it run out it's the full (more expensive) 3 day survival again. The offshore medical lasts 2 years.

The CCNSG Safety Passport expires after three years from the date of the National or Renewal course. You may come back for a one day Renewal course up to three months after the Safety Passport card has expired. Once the three months have lapsed, you will be required to sit the two day National course again.

Hope this helps
