seen scaffold towers and every lift the brases all go in the same way on lifts is this good practise because most jobs brase in first lift then out on rest of lifts or dog leg. its tube and fitting scaffold does it make any diffrence. never seen it before

There is no set way to ledger brace. The the general trend is in on the first then outwards on every lift after that. Mainly because if they are working lifts then the rakers don't foul your boards

Dog leg on unboarded, inside to out on working lifts for access/egress.

In on the base, out all other lifts if your debri netting , we have a heavy duty stapler for stapling the debri netting to the toeboards its quick and looks lovely.

In on the base out on other lifts. Double to double on un-boarded lifts.:amuse:

or if we are all being honest what ever way the wind is blowing using whatever type of fittings we have left on the truck.

make you right aom were all scaffs on here as for handrails how many get there tapes out only when the queen comes to sight not very often lol !!!

must be 20 years since I last measured a hand rail, baw height every time:cool:

Diamond bracing on towers, less running around, looks good on big towers

In on bottom lift
Then out, alternate on every lift after that, all on swivels

Brought up at mills

SGB used to like thiers bottom lift in, then rest out, swivel bottom, band on top ledger

Ledger to ledger looks great until PC asks for extra boarded lifts

H/rail belly button top, then spanner length down bottom H/rail (belly button and spanner length conform to all current legislation)

yeap make you right the only time a tape comes out is when you need it bloody hell i can remember when my olde school boss used hes hands to get the board spaceings lol.ive even seen scaffs use a sole board when theve lost there tape lol.

dico,

With so many scaffs erecting and cant afford the 3 quid for a tape its a wonder we ever manage to get them square. It's maybe just as well I'm a single lift specialist.

TAPES,

Any good scaff of my day used a 3ft RULE folded up to 9in and sat in the frog at back of your level.
You could take it out, unfold it, measure, re-fold and return to frog with ONE hand.Try that with a tape

With Rule fully open Measure inside one ledger to outside of other ledger this gave you 3ft 2in between standards 4 boards +2in to drop the toe board in

I even had to update to a metre rule when they stopped making the 3ft one

But as you get older your balls sag more, another 20 years in this game and you will be putting the handrail in at knee high:nuts:
