Hi Ray, yes thats a great idea, we could definately do that. The only problem is how do we decide which agencies are recommended and which are not.

There are obviously some very good and very bad agencies out there, but some people will have bad experiences with the best ones etc.

Maybe we could have a poll thread with a number of agencies on it and you could vote for them if you have had a good experience with them in the past.
 
think raymond 1969 got a good point just seen an advert for a brick layer new romney kent 8.50 an hour trafalgar construction hope they dont come on here advertising for scaffolders i no brick layers can be a pain but 8.50 an hour thats a insult what will they
paye an advanced scaffolder.
 
Perhaps the SCCR could offer some kind of accreditation to agencies who abide by a code of practice and agree to a minimum hourly rate . One of things which I personally have issue with is agencies who insist on using there own preferred umbrella company to process payments rather allow the individual the option to use their own chosen umbrella company.

It gives the individual some control over the fees charged and saves a lot of hassle when moving between agencies and having to produce ID and bank details to a different company every time you work for a different agency .
 
as usual in this totally screwed up country of ours , privacy laws stop you finding out who the number belongs to, you can find someones number out if you have a name and location, but if you only have a number and are looking for a name you got no chance.

this country with its human rights and privacy laws, protects the criminals, the fraudsters, the nuisances and the pizz takers more than any protection for the law abiding public. in other countries you can google a number an get a name typical.

This is an issue we are looking into. I am in talks with some agencies but would need more on board to make it work. I feel only the good ones will join. We are looking at a star rating & if the wage is good or not. Like a hotel guide but with back up & technical advice.

Seems to be the only way to go make sure you check they are up to a standard of trust and get rid of the **** ones
