You can ttry and fill out a county court claim, but from what you have said I think it will be ignored:sad:

I think Celticbhoys right pay them a home visit to show your not going to be messed about anymore:mad:

i had no idea fellow tradesmen were subject to cowboy builders too - it's not just joe public. it's too bad when this sort of thing goes on.

theres a saying that i cant think of right now, about getting a bad reputation and how many people get to hear of it. and bad word spreads quicker than good!

Thankfully not many of them seem to frequent this forum :)

Got my invoices back today return mail from Royal Mail. Phoned hair dressers who are next door to the address I had for them. Said the landlord has been inundated with letters for them and they have had loads of people calling in to their salon looking for them. Seems I'm not the first and probably not the last to get ripped off. They occupied the address for only 10 days over 12 months ago but they still show up on credit checker there with average risk rating!

Small claims

Hi Danaps

We have had a few issues with people saying they will pay and then fold the company up and say new company will pay and then fold that up.

We have a fairly cheap and quick method of taking people to court, and they will generally get a CCJ against them, which makes it more difficult for them to trade in the future, as they cannot get credit so easily.

Will post details next week as my associate generally deals with these matters, so dont have them to hand.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there with no scruples and will keep trading and not paying people.

We use risk disk and it helps, but still not 100%, but if they are red or on warning then payment up front.

All the best

Chris Eng

Cheers Chris. I sent solicitor letter and had the court papers to send but after phoning the hair salon thought they would never get the papers. I need to find their current trading address(needle in a haystack).:(

i got caught in a very similar situation a few years back and went and explained to the customer what had happened , they agreed to pay us directly and stop it from the roofers money.Who never finished the job or came back, the trouble is you have to have trust that people will pay you or we would get no where. :)

Company Name or Registration No.

Hi Dandaps

Do you have the limited company name or registration number as they should have a company registered address at Companies House.

This is the address to serve the papers and if they dont exist at this address then I think Companies House may be interested.

Post to you on Monday.

Have a good weekend anyway.

Chris
