Advanced rails good or not

Simon Hughes

Simon Hughes one of the main architects of SG4:10 is I believe a director of a company specialising in scaffold health and safety training. His company has recently branched out opening up an online store supplying fall arrest equipment and PPE. I wonder if they have any plans to stock advanced guardrails and step ups in the not too distant future :suspicious:

tell ya ragscaff.looked at them stepups on that website you would have thought they should have put lift ledgers in first for safety

Podger, please find the following taken from the thread some interesting views.

"Morning Simon,

You spoke with me a couple of weeks ago in regards the scaffolders forum. I would like to pursue this but you have not forwarded me your details. I have contacted the HSE & they gave me this contact, I hope it is correct!!

I have now formed the SCCR Scaffolders Confederation for Consultation Rights.

We are expected to have a membership of around 1000 in the first 3 months. We will be liked via the forum & be a voice for the working man!!

Hope you can find time to get back to me .

Regards S.Quinney

"Hi Stewart,

Thanks for the email and I’m sorry that my previous email didn’t get through.

In summary, we would be pleased to offer professional health and safety support to the scaffolder’s forum. In return for unlimited advice and regular updates from our ebulletin service for our retained clients, we would ask you to consider an advert on your website. Also if we were required to attend meetings or present to members we’d ask for you to cover any travel expenses.

I have attached some company information and my biography for your consideration. We employ 22 consultants/inspectors and instructors and operate throughout the scaffolding industry (construction, town, industrial and offshore) in the UK and overseas. We are involved as consultants with HSE, NASC and CISRS and like to think we’re at the leading edge (excuse the pun!) of all health, safety and technical issues affecting our trade.

With regards to this new forum, we’ll need further information and terms of reference etc. but I’m sure our input would be beneficial directly or via the Forum.

If you’d like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me. You may also like to check out our website SCAFFOLDING CONSULTANTS | SCAFFOLD DESIGN | SCAFFOLDING TRAINING | SCAFFOLDING EXPERTS

Kind Regards,

Simon "

"Hi Simon,

Thanks for your reply.

I will See what we can do in relation to the Forum & having a page. But as for paying for meeting not happening.

I am self employed all my time is for free. That is the main thing about the SCCR. If you wish to attend any future meetings then that would be at your cost.

We might even ask you to sponsor a meeting if you advertise on the forum!!

Regards S.Quinney

Hi Stewart,

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate the voluntary nature of the Forum and we would be prepared to support you on that basis. As a support service to the scaffolding industry we would be grateful for the publicity gained from a small advert on the website in return.

With regard to meetings we’d be pleased to support them and can also offer our training centre as a meeting venue (FOC of course) if interested. We are fairly central to the UK and have good public transport links for those travelling far.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Kind Regards,

Simon
