This email for a 'trainee' scaffolding estimator arrived in my postbox today. I think it has been doing the rounds for a few weeks. The company is iso accredited and a member of NASC aparrently, the position also offers a car (keep in mind the additional company car tax you will pay could be £200.00 per month) :-

They have a vast experience of operating across the Commercial, Industrial, Marine, Historic and Public Sectors, supplying both traditional tube fitting and scaffolding systems.

Similarly they hold accreditation for Achilles, Chas, NASC and Quality to ISO 9001:2008.

Job Role:
Due to planned expansion our client looking to take in a Trainee Estimator.

Ideally you will have at least 12 months estimating or quantity surveying or buying experience

You will work closely along side the Senior Estimator and will assist with the below duties

Identify client cost drivers and key messages and ensure these are reflected in all cost proposals.

Prepare PQQ's and questionnaires associated with preferred contract lists and supply chains.

To prepare any other documentation that is required for the companies progression.

Liaise with operations team, subcontractors, and senior management to generate competitive and innovative costing solutions compliant with all client tender requirements.

Ensure cost proposals are compliant with all relevant legislation and recognised industry codes of practise.

Arrange and carry out tender review with the appropriate level of management prior to finalisation of a submission document to take account of all reviews, productivity, local/job parameters and client requirements.

Complete and control all clients financial submissions documents and provide support to the Bid Team with their inclusion in the final client proposal.

Log all new enquiries and create both electronic and computer files.

Analyse and interpret specifications received from clients and contractors.
