After some advice pls. Been a self employed general builder for 15 yrs but throughout that time helped my uncle (who was a scaf) when he needed a chuck. Nothing formal, but I've racked up plenty of experience.

He's jacked it in and I'm wondering whether to start up myself with his gear. I've always enjoyed it and although hard, it doesn't f*ck my lower back like the building work. I like the idea of being in and out as well, not being stuck at some customers house for weeks on end.

Can I go about getting my ticket without starting right at the bottom? Am I mad to be even considering it in my late 30s?

Any advice appreciated . Cheers lads
