cheers phil will send an email, ill let you know how i get on

There is absolutely nothing that mentions scaffolding on this site, waste of time.

Fernando,

If you have any experience of working offshore/overseas you will know that Engineering companies or agencies etc do not have a provision for scaffolding as they are not scaffolding contractors. What you will find is that 9 times out of 10, the client on the project will insist that the contractor employ a Scaffolding Inspector/Supervisor externally to oversee the works on an independent basis.

It's pretty much like our positions here in Nigeria, I work (indirectly) for ExxonMobil, now if you look on their websites there will be no mention of scaffolding at all, it will all be about oil production and development. EMDC use contractors to do all their work offshore and with that comes all the specific trades.

With their being multiple trades on their projects, they all need Inspectors for each sector to represent the client and to ensure all works are being executed as per the company policies/industry & safety regulations etc.

Scaffolding Inspector/Supervisor are usually an after thought on most projects and this is why you will always see the words 'Urgent' because they forgot to include the position at the planning stages. When I first went to Hong Kong in 1997, I was there 7 days after I got the phone call, when I went to work for ExxonMobil at the ALNG Cadiz, Spain they wanted me to mobilize within 9 days!

A waste of time? I think there are a few very experienced lads on here that might disagree with that comment son!

Cheers,
Phil.

Phil sent my CV off for that job, just had phone call from them to arrange for a phone interview. :)
Thanks for the info.

The job has finished there was shutdowns on two of the trains, but you could still send you CV in as they will be having more shutdown later this year, The problem was visas no one could get a resident visa so they had a big turnover of supervisor.

Guys

Look at the day rate 300 Euro per day 28 & 28 and nothing when you are off!!
over 2 months (time on/off) thats only 150 Euro per day!!!

Very poor.

Very poor. Agreed.
But, who says that when your on your 28 day 'off time' that you have to sit indoors and not work for someone else?

What about some local cash-in-hand work or Agency work?

On your 28 days leave you should be getting at least a 100 euros a day
