I am asking on behalf of a family in the town of Wisbech cambs. They need some scaffolding preferably to buy to support the front of their house that has started to bow. It only needs to be short term support because of the insurance that are dealing with the property. Can anyone help? I have been told the measurements they need are 15 foot long by 20 foot high.

Welcome , what you need is a raking shore that needs to be designed by a scaffold design engineer who will work out what loads the scaffold will need to hold and design the scaffold , its not just a case of throwing a few 15 foot tubes against a house.

Thanks, i have just been told that this is what he needs, obviously with the raking shores. He knows what he is doing and will build himself, he just needs to get hold of the stuff

Marra this is real scaffolding mate, not some job out in the Shires holding up a falling down cow shed :laugh::laugh:

He obviously knows what hes doing by asking you to get his gear via a forum....

1 nick a load of railway sleepers preferably when the trains gone past

2 get a big wooden mallet and smash the thigh bones of dead cows through the sleepers to anchor them to the ground about 15 foot away from the funhouse

3 take your belt off and hold it by your bollacks and your outstreched hand will give you the desired angle for your supports

4 as acrow props only come in too shorter lengths get the wife to hold one up on the angle (near her ladygarden to outstreched hand) then zip tie the next acrow to the end, holes are provided for this

5 get some cow sh1t on the back of more sleepers and stick them vertically to the wall then rest the acrows on them

6 please take a pic of each stage of your mates work as I havent p1ssed myself since I was 5

if you find any of these points ridiculous join the fukin club :D

The joke is you thinking that your mate can just throw up a support job on a house which possibly has people even kids in it with no concern for the consequences, but you carry on as you seem like a capable chap ;)

Ok Joebag, you nothing about the situation with my mate. You have no idea about his experience, what equipment he already has or anything. I came on here to ask about best places to get more stuff, and you have come here and been like this. I would ask therefore that unless you know the FULL situation, and can offer some constructive advice, shut the f*** up t**t

thank you so much Joebag, and i trust that as you have given me permission to carry on, you will leave your pathetic comments and posts somewhere else?

Considering im a qualified scaff with nearly twenty years experience , commenting on a scaffolding forum about scaffolding issues.....will leave you to figure that out..... but by any means carry on thinking that you are more than capable of erecting a load bearing structual raking shore on a subsiding house of which insurers are involved or even worse asking for advice to pass on off a forum on how to erect one ,even though you have just disregarded the obviously sound and correct advice of employing a reputable scaffold designer to calculate the loads and design of the structure for erection!

Sometimes people need saving from themselves

Has it been stated that i have disregarded all the advice (sensible and sound advice that is). Do you know anything about me? Do you know anything about my mate and his experience? Do you know anything about the situation at his house? um....no, no and um no. And the reason for that is simple, you haven't asked a single sensible question to find out more facts. You have just bulldozed in and been ridiculous. But i am not going to be too judgemental, i will just let you think that you know everything about everything and everyone, and hope that it makes you feel better

Surely if your mate has experience of raking shores he will know where his local supplier is?

He does have experience, but couldn't really find anyone round here, so came on here to see if anyone could recommend anyone they know or use, as souternpoofter did earlier in this thread
