This ad for a scaffold estimator appeared in my inbox today but this is the second time in 2 months it has shown in this exact format -

The agency dealing with this is Wisdomjobs.co.uk. As Follows:-


Scaffolding Estimator,
33 - 40,000 (depending on background and experience)

Construction sector, reporting to the Branch Manager
Ipswich based

The Client
Our client is a major organisation within the Construction sector. They offer an innovative and engineered range of scaffolding, access, formwork, shoring and site safety services. These services are mostly provided to large non-residential and infrastructure projects.

The Role
*To support the business delivery team achieve its objectives
*To produce detailed scaffolding quotations, including scopes of work to assist in securing contract works within the East Anglia region and rail sector.
*To be able to take measurements from architects drawings to prepare a scope and fully understand scaffold drawings.
*To provide innovative access solutions to customers which provide financial benefits.
*To provide cost breakdown of quotations for the operational team.
*To develop and maintain customer relationships.
Key Result Areas
*Ensure that the quotations are clear, accurate and in accordance with customer requirements.
*Able to communicate both internally and externally in an experienced manner.
*Capable of developing enquiries and taking to order stage.
*Maintain a responsible attitude to the health and safety of self and others in accordance with legislative guidelines.
*Ability to prioritise and turnaround tenders to meet customer requirements.

The Candidate
(Candidates with a background in the Rail sector would be of particular interest)
*A proven knowledge of estimating within the scaffolding industry.
*Knowledge of the industry within East Anglia.
*Basic IT skills,
*Ability to read and understand Scaffolding and architectural drawings.
*Capable of contributing fully to the branch team, with good self discipline and a strong commitment to quality and procedures with the ability to work under sustained pressure.
*Willingness to respond positively to new challenges faced by the business and to be willing to learn new skills for personal career development.
*A flexible attitude to working hours is required, which will allow the business to meet its customer commitments and business targets.
 
I went for an interview and heard nothing back. The money package is ok but the company work on an own car basis. Not sure how many estimators like me would leave a company that has a company car to spend thousands on a car for this job. btw I have no car and no employment. lol
