OBJECTIVES:
• To prepare job specifications for all work on the overhaul/ task/ event work list for an area of work.
• To assist with the implementation and preparation of logics to aid the scheduler.
• To ensure that all SHE and local requirements are reflected in the plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1 Work listing / Specifications
• To establish and run robust systems to manage the preparation and execution of the overhaul/task/event in your Area.
• Produce job specifications for all jobs in your Area and other Areas as required.
• Use site established norms to identify trade resource requirements for each activity.
• Establish a material take off list for each specific job in line with the plant specifications.
• Establish realistic contingencies for equipment likely to require repair and include contingency time in the event schedule.
• Ensure the level of detail on specifications is correct and all aspects are completed before the job is considered 'planned'.
• Liaise with the Area Engineer and Commercial Manager to ensure scopes of work for contracts, including specialist works, are well defined and include provisions for any contingency work beyond the original scope.
• Ensure specification production milestones are met and most importantly ensure that all specifications are complete 6 weeks pre-event.
• To be pro-active in identifying to the Plant Team, defects and other work that should be considered for inclusion in the event.
• Understand the interaction of all jobs on each of the Area worklists and the interaction between those Areas.
• Pro-actively identify any improvements that will contribute to the success of the planning phase.
• Develop the sketches and drawings, assisting where necessary in site visits to develop the Autosketch packages for use during the preparation phase..

2 Safety
• Ensure that all relevant safety and environmental issues are captured on the Job Method Sheet.
• Ensure that the schedule logic takes safe working into account.
• Assist with Major Job Reviews and Job Safety Analysis meetings.

3 Schedule
• Assist in the development of the schedule.
• Identify any external logic links and liaise with the Planning Officer/Manager to ensure that the plan is realistic and that the logics are correct.
• Ensure that sufficient detail is incorporated into the schedule to allow accurate progress monitoring.

4 Preparation General
• Be pro-active in identifying any improvements that will contribute to the success of the planning phase.
• Liaise with the Scaffolding Supervisor to minimise scaffolding re-work.
• Ensure all tags are fitted 2 weeks pre-event.
• Identify all pre-work in time for the relevant contractor to plan and mobilise resources to execute the work safely and effectively.
• Assist in identifying long delivery materials. Identify these to the Materials Co-ordinator to allow them to be expedited.

5 Execution
• Ensure that priorities are understood during execution.
• Produce a clear, structured display of control sheets for use during execution, ensure check sheets are kept up to date DAILY during execution.
• Ensure all extra and new work in your area is defined, planned and executed safely and cost-effectively.

6 Team Working
Work with the Planning Officer and other Planners to ensure that the preparation and execution phases of the overhaul are run smoothly and efficiently and that all targets are met.

7 Review
Assist in the review of the preparation phase of the overhaul.
