Offshore work

Hi,
can you get work off shore with a CISRS part 2 card, also what other scaff cards are accepted other than CISRS if any ?? thanks

Yes you can, sure they only recognise CISRS cards though..

from my experience its Part 2 scaffolder CISRS and Advanced CISRS. Nothing else besides, survival, medica, rebreather, mist and whatever someone else gets up with today and decides its in.

i have worked with part one scaffolders offshore before . i remember one was actually core crew with a part one .no doubt related to someone high up

Hi there, Im currently running my own business and have been doing for the last 2 years and doing quite well but thinking of jackng it and moving to asia (missus is asian), hopefully to get some offshore work. Work in asia would br prefrable althought im willing to work world wide and i know you need the BOISET and I have a part 2 card and over 10 years experience.
We`re not thinking of going till next year after which i will have done my advanced cert and BOISET, MIST what are the prospects of finding work offshore these days because i`ve read some articles here and some guys have been looking for over a year. If i sell my firm what kind of time frame will it take to land a job you think.
Also thinking of doing rope access level 1 if this will further my chances.

Hi Woodsie, If you google Cape East, and get in contact with them, there picking up a lot of work out there, dont know if they will only use cheap local labour, but its worth a chat to someone.

you can get offshore with part 2 card. like anywhere else ive heard they take part 1s when desperate. but i hav nevercome across them and ive been offshore off and on for years. there is still plenty off work in northsea so go do your survival and give it a shot.

ther is a new build next yr in sheffield,debra has the contract,debra bought out the biggest scaffold company in ireland called o donoghues,there not much happening in ireland so ther be lots of lads heading across after krimbo theres a good few ther already

Dungeness B has been put back for nxt year to 2012, then there doing back to back outages, not much help for you for nxt year but bear in mind for the year after. That will be with Cape.:blink1:

in responce to the offshore thread.. i was on a project last year where they took on part 1s and labourers 'quite a few of em as well'.. a labourer was working in B&Q before getting offshore and another was some sort of chef chopping carrots in a kitchen.. wot about that!!!!
