You need to write a breif discription of the scaffold ie. for the first entry which is for the independent or birdcage you must explain what it was in- overall size and what it was to be used for and what it was erected on ....such as saying
The Independent was erected for a five board wide access platform for the builder to gain safe access to the south elivation of the building, it was 15m in length and 10m in height with two inside boards.
The scaffold was built on type one hardcore that had been compacted ny the client to provide a suitable base, the scaffold was erected as follows.
> Scaffold set out with 21' and 14' standards staggared to strengthen the frame with 1.9m bays
> I erected the scaffold using the reverse base method with temporary braces to hold the frame and inside standards
> The standards were set out on 1.5m sole boards & base plates to support the scaffold & spread the load on the ground
> the base lift was set out at 2.2m above the ground with the ledges staggared to strengthen the frame these were attched to the standards with doubles these were to carry the transoms and provide a level platform
> Transoms were placed across the ledgers & attached with single couplers at 1.2 centers and were no more that 300mm from the node points these were to support the boards
> Sway braces were attached across the outside standards at 45 degree angle and were installed using swivel couples every 6 bays, these were to plumb the standrds left/right & to stop side -side movement
> ledger braces were placed at each end of the scaffold and at alternate pairs of standards with swivels and doubles from the bottom of the inside standard to the outside ledger, these were to plumb the standards in & out frpm the building.
>The scaffold was tied to the building with ring bolts (hilti ties) aprox 4mx4m in line with TG20 recomendations
> The boarded platforms were five boards wide with double hand rails attached to the outside standards at 1.0m high with the second lower set below the upper using my level a a guage so the rail was no more that 450mm down. scaffold boards were attacehd to the outside standards with single couplers(clips) for toe boards to stop debris from being kicked off
> Access was gained by a short ladder from the ground during erection and a haki stair tower was built for access to the upper levels and for general acces to the independent when it was handed over.
> I erected the scaffold using a scaff step and my harness in line with the training I was given from my traing centre and following SG4:10 and the working at height regulations...
