Has anyone heard of a job in the Shetlands which Interserve have and are looking for scaffolders?

Thanks

aparently its the new build gas plant for Total.
This isnt a blue book job but the cash should be good.

Wouldnt Bank On It Happy, The Last Time I Worked Woth Interserve The Money Was Gash.

im sure i saw this not long ago , and the money was that bad only a single man with no outgoings like , mortgage, bills, car, would go , cant remember the rate but was not good

they do still get the odd bit of industrial work which is seperate from the contacts side.I last worked for them on the SHELL site at St Fergus that was about 9/10 years ago.
they had a big shutdown at saltend 3 years ago as well as baglin bay power station.

I've heard that its interserv & salamis on sullom voe, one is doing the maintenance work & the other is doing the new build 3 on 1 off rota, food & digs paid

im positive it was giving about £165 a day and definetly had no dig money , i reasoned that most people would not do it because youd have to spend £40 -£60 per day for digs and living expense.

i mean the shetland job.

if its sullom voe in the shetlands they have a purpose built camp for the contractors to live at as theres nothing else for miles, this camp has a canteen, snooker, pool a boozer & even a gym plus 5 a side footie pitches, sounds like i'm trying to sell a holiday but i'm not, i've seen it from the chopper on the way to the rig

as already stated BIS/SALAMIS are on the BP and do the maintenance
The new build which has the camp facilities is for the TOTAL Gas plant.
i dont know the rate as im not really interested in the job,but i cant see it being too bad.Saying that if it is INTERSERVE you can never be sure.;)

My mate was on it couple of months ago through an agency subcontracted to morrisons who are doin all the groundworks. He was working 7 x 10hour shifts an cumin out with around £950 per week which isn't great. Again it was 3 on an 1 off or in his case 2 on permanently off as they paid him off for stepping outside the boozer with his pint 2 take a call from his wife  he told me it was like a prison camp. Interswerve should score the contract which I heard is being awarded in January, if they win it they will be using mostly agency labour from ABC. There was a post on here about 6 weeks ago. £18 an hour advanced but that's a flat rate  if any u guys were interested give Cameron Bruce a call on 07801468487 hope this helps

if its the one my mates are on its not interserve mate its 3 weeks on 1 off and my mate chucked it coz he was doin 21 12hour shifts and only getn 970 a week in his hand, thats not a great hourly rate

very poor if you break down the hours hes worked your get more doing security at asdas. interserve were great payers 13.14 yrs ago in there day earnte some good money now it seems there the worst payers

Edinburgh and Glasgow depots pay basic scaffs £10.45 p/h and advanced £11.37 p/h so with an advanced card ur lucky to clear £350 on a 39 hour week (which is all u get) no overtime, no bonuses generally no work incentives. Think u hit the nail on the head dico. Dunno wot there like south of the border? Also all they use is that rusty bent kwikstage that should be condemned!!!

well not sure interserve down south but capes depots down south are a little bit beter but not a lot unless your a labourer. how they do the paye scale beats me. trainee scaffolders £7,00 a hour. labourer £10 hour part 2 £12.87 advanced £13.56 theres normally a quid bonus on all hours plus traveling exspences are meet or van so it will bump the rate up but take away bonus and travel it would be poor exspecially with no overtime. but £11.37 for a advanced is very poor there should be one rate across the map what ever the scaffold company even capes paye different rates on some of there stations

interserve up here pay bonus to chargehands aswell theyr money got a bare week isnt too bad and not everyone wants overtime some people like to finish on friday and go back on monday, having enjoyed time off with families etc

I totally agree with you mate got kids myself an try balancing providing as best i can with quality family time. Was jus comparing the wage structure to other companies in the local area, they seem to come a bit short. Got quite a few mates that work there an have done for many years. They too agree their time would be worth more elsewhere. On the plus side they are always kept going so what they lack in wages they gain with stability.

Officially bis-is have won the contract there taking on 90 men from jan onwards and thats just the start!! Cv and security checks will be done through globetek
