Work at Height

The National Access & Scaffolding Confederation is the Trade Association
which sets the standards for safe scaffolding, workmanship and benchmarks
for industry regulation.
The job holder will provide professional advice and support on all health, safety
and technical matters to the NASC membership, the scaffolding industry and
externally. This includes participating in formulating appropriate policy,
guidance notes and publications. There is substantial interface with members
and external bodies.
The membership is represented on specialist Committees for Health & Safety
and for Technical matters. The job holder has responsibility for arrangement
and management of these Committees and any associated Working Groups.
A strong health & safety background in construction, a thorough working
knowledge of codes of practice relating to scaffolding & access, coupled with
an understanding of the role and function of a trade association are required.
It is likely that specific scaffolding industry experience will be the best ‘fit’ for
the role. Formal NEBOSH qualification (Certificate or Diploma) or equivalent
is necessary together with evidence of continued professional development.
Good communication/interpersonal skills, competence with information
Technology and a full driving license. Additionally the personal energy, presentation & presence
to represent the Association are essential personal attributes.
The employment package includes contributory pension, life assurance, five

he will also receive regular backhanders for turning a blind eye to the fact that a lot of the members are complete cowboys that dont follow any of the regs you preach , the small firms with the big envelopes that only employ kids and have no actual scaffolders because they are greedy robbing fookers. the firms that are told when your coming and put up a couple of decent jobs for you to look at while the rest of them are complete death traps. 40000 a year in the bank 70000 in the pocket. if you have morals please dont apply

some of the firms round here in nasc are ridiculous , the worst company in the north east are in nasc

Agree Allan mate, however they allways seem to be able to cover their arse. Chatted to a few of the younguns, for a company you used to work for. FFS, no Hard hats,Harness,Hi-Vis and not even a Handrail left on @ 1st lift height or a 'Step on the Wagon' if the HSE had turned up.
