Hi lads just wondering if anyone had any info on how to get into the health and safety side of scaffolding or any info on courses I would need to do?
Cheers

If you're a scaffolder right now then you're into the health and safety side of scaffolding. Go do a 2 day scaffold Inspection course (soon to be 3) and some will think you'll be an expert. You won't. Have a look at doing your Nebosh/ IOSH and ring some companies up or apply for scaffold inspection jobs (if you have the experience)

Hi vllb I've been scaffolding 15 yrs I do have a sssts course booked for next month and I also have the advanced inspection booked for june.

Ask the question to the training provider about the new inspection course as a trainer at Simian told me on Tuesday that people who have done a 2 day course will have to do a 1 day bridging course to bring it in line with the new 3 day inspection course that is coming. More money to fork out.

Health and Safety died a death 2 year ago , become an Environmentalist that's where the money is at

If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left
Their role in the food chain is so important that in 2007 The National Audit Office collated research working out the value of honeybees to the UK economy.

The value of the bees' services were estimated at £200m a year. The retail value of what they pollinate was valued closer to £1bn.

Are you contemplating in long term future and diverting from your long term career to become along term bee keeper then double D

I did an IEMA course last year , doing my diploma at the minute. I'm going to become a lentil muncher and get into the environmental side of things. I know a lot of people are sceptical when it comes to environmental issues, but it something that interests me so going to give it a shot.

Seems a strange change of direction dd, where are you hoping that will take you?

To be honest I'm not sure aom, the course itself I'm doing 10 days over 5 week. It's a lot more to take in than what the nebosh was. I will just see how things pan out I just want to try something new.

Good luck with it all, nothing wrong with a change of direction in life now and again.

Best Of Luck Ds, Its A Big Step So Go For It And Give It Your Best Shot.

Dont waste ur time or money on the sss it wont really help u where ur trying to get...better to pay the little xtra & do the 5 day smsts course...i spose the AIT will be ok but if ur allready a gold card holder-as it stands wont be any better...the next step would be ur NEBOSH , then at least on paper ur there, get urself a job or a client base & cont with ur education maybe the iosh or go the green path as previously suggested
Good luck & prepare to be disliked by everyone;)
