bp algeria hostages taken

its been reported that 7 expat workers have been taken hostage from a bp plant in ALGERIA.The workers are said to be BRITISH AND NORWEGIAN,although this has not been confirmed.
Lets hope they all get freed soon and its nothing to do with the carry on in MALI,which borders Algeria.
 
Unfortunately Happy This Has Everything To Do With Whats Happening In Mali, Since They Deposed Gaddafi That Whole Region Has Became Even More Unstable, And Really Hard Line Militants Are Moving Into Central Africa From Algeria And Lybia, There Was Always A Bit Of A Difference Between African And Arabs, Like The Difference Between Church Of England And Church Of Scotland, Both The Same Faith But Different In Practice.
 
I just seen that 1 that has been killed was a Brit.
Its on BBC news.

They have retracted the earlier statement and said that the man from N.I. has been taken hostage and is alive.

Concerns were voiced on this very Forum about the security of expat workers in that very Country...

Let us hope that this recent incident serves as a wake up call and that all the Men are freed unharmed...
 
Hope the others make it home safely. And those terrorists are brutally killed.

Hey I'm just saying what everyones thinking.

Imagine if Algeria had gone ahead and scaffs from this forum would now have been potential hostages, or victims.
 
if i remember correct wasnt that what hotspanner was trying to warn jason and the final six about as he'd worked out there quite a lot...but jason got arsey about it...just go's to show perhaps they shoulda listened to him

i doubt that the £120 a day to get on the forum grid doesnt seem too exciting anymore.

Sad to hear 2 have been murdered but as hswy has pointed out in the pursuit of that few bob more we will always put our lives on the line.
ALGERIA HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HOT BED OF ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISM AND ANY EXCUSE TO HAVE A GO AT THE FRENCH IS TAKEN EVEN THOUGH ALGERIAN MIGRANTS POLLUTE THE CITY OF MARSEILLE AS WELL AS MANY OTHER FRENCH CITIES.
the whole situation in north africa could well be the new frontline as afghanistan continues to wind down.
 
yeap not good leeds bad outcome just shows you what lifes worth when you have a plant that needs to run theve just stormed it with no respect off life rip to all those murdered.
