Six days before Christmas, they can pick experienced guys up at the drop of a hat.

Not knocking the lads that take up the job's,they make thier own decisions, for thier own reasons

you probably couldnt be more wrong , the north sea seems to be filled with over weight and over 40 , where as there is lots of hungry young men itchin to kick the door down , but cant get in

maybe not so much with scaffolding , but defo , most other trades

even the average weight of a worker is shocking and rises year on year , due to those massive helpings of grub , be 4 people on a chopper soon , but as long as it doesnt leave from bond , they should be ok

Nothing wrong with being over 40. To be honest offshore is an older mans game. The young bucks should be leaping about earning a fortune on price and target work.

nothing wrong at all , and maybe it should be the most experienced , the young guys ive met in past year or so , they all talk of offshore , maybe there is no decent price , PTS work seems the new thing

Old age and treachery always overcomes youth and skill
Ain't too much that we won't do what Waylon won't Willie will
Even though we've spent our lives charging up the wrong side of the hill
Old age and treachery always overcomes youth and skill

Some people say that our get up and go's got up and gone
I don't know bout you Willie
But I can still jump as high I just can't stay that high that long
Even though we've spent our lives charging up the wrong side of the hill
Old age and treachery always overcomes youth and skill

Young bull says old bull let's run that heiffer down and have a ball
Let's make her squawl
Old bull says young bull let's just ease on adown and love 'em all

Old age and treachery always overcomes...

Rosie loves the raquet ball she won't do it but her sister will
Damn what'd you say that for
Ain't got a thing to do with this I know what you're tryin' to do
Your tryin' to get half a song
OK we'll put your name on it

The extra weight on the chopper is also for the mobility scooters

It should be based on BMI but then its their platforms they can make the rules.

I suppose according to BMI I would be over weight ,just for a wee test the other day I had a go at the British Army entry fitness test in a gym and passed it !and I am in my fifties.(not that they'd want me )

It's more of a saftey issue and getting out of a chopper that's ditched as some of the bigger guys certainly won't get out of the windows.

They saying they will fail the medical if over weight, but will be given advice on how to make the weight.

It`s about time a weight restriction was put in place , you want to see the size of some of these fat feckers . Guaranteed you will be stuck next to them in the chopper how the hell they pass a medical is beyond me . They tried to allocate seats on the choppers before but the fatties kept going for the best seats and were none to happy when told to move so was put down to discrimination , just get of the pies lard ars£ and don`t start me on the cants snoring . I think I`ve lost a couple of pounds with that rant .

well said , have a question Scaffarobbo , do you think someone with years of offshore experience but has just done the 1 day assessment and is waiting on p2 card , would get out ?

theres 1 guy i remember who would not get out the window , he was fuckin massive

I doubt it mate , strictly speaking until you have the card with your SVQs on the back you are still a part 1 . By the time your part2 card has been issued things should be kicking of again . It wouldn`t stop me trying though .
