Australian advanced card

Does anyone know if my Australian advanced card would still be valid?
I was in Sydney in 2002 and went to the union and they gave me my card. It has no expiry date on it.

Hello Savva
Just looking for some information regarding work in Australia.
1-What is the best way to find sponsored work?
2-Also is there any employers that would sponsor at the moment.

Cheers for any feedback!!!

You will probably have to convert your Advanced card for a High Risk LicencePhone up Worksafe and ask them if this is possible, as not too sure when the cut off was for the conversion was before you have to resit the course.
As HSWT said you will have to do Working @ heights and also CSE, some companies may put you through this when you get here.

Bluetoon, try Caledonian Scaffolding in Sth Australia.
There is also someeone on here called Orec who has done this.

I had got work when I was there in 2002 just by calling firms up. The money was not great then. not too sure what you get on the the town now.
All the scaffolding was yellow jelly and some of the fittings where ancient.

In reply to your Aussie Advanced Ticket.

Check this link it kind of explains it a little bit. My understanding is that the old cards need to be updated to the new cards which now have a photo on them. Still the same classifications for scaffold tickets but they have added a 'High Risk to Work' to them. It doesn't explain it on the link but I'm pretty sure the cut off is 31st December to update them. If you don't do it by then you would have to redo the course. Also it looks as though you need to go in person to an Australian Post Office here to do it. I hope this helps.
