Been asked to put some independent on the side of a church, they've asked us to put tins sheets around the scaffold to stop people climbing up.

Two questions are! - how do people normally fit these? Obviously if we use sheeting clips there will be tube up the outside anyway for people to climb on? Or screw them in and put holes in the sheets?

2 - does anyone have a rough m2 price for doing this? As above never been asked to do before so haven't a clue:embarrest:

If it`s just for security we would tie 4" x 2" wood to the scaffold with heavy duty cable ties then screw 8` x 4` plywood to it, low tech but works a treat, £12.50 per 8` x 4` but that`s in Glasgow.

We fit these all the time, but we've got to go 5m high with most of my client on most churches. Make sure you check in the spec what the architect has specified, he may have gone for 3m, 3.5m or 5m hire. We fit Ranch boards along the ground, clipped on standards with board clips, drop extra short standards in if needed to catch end of boards, then another board at 5' high and the last board top of sheets. We use 5m box section galvanised sheets, but use them all the time as mentioned, so if you keep ranch boards at same heights, you can normally keep using the same holes. If you go 5m high, i get away with out vandal paint on top of sheets, some of the architects specify this as well, cause most churches only insured for £1,000 on lead. But you can imagine how much of a nightmare that is!

Use self tapping tech screws to fit them, from fixing point:- 6.3 x 45 + G16 gash point timber. £ 31 + vat a box of 1,000. DON'T GET THEM FROM SCREWFIX or anywhere like that, well expensive.

Box section galv sheets 5m long, i get them from Ainscough metals in Wigan. £26 each + vat. including cut < as they come in 6m lengths.
