For those Scaffolders that are looking for work and considering TRAD what follows is a list of what we offer and what we do not.

WE OFFER

  • Starting wage per day initially on an industry average but a competitive rate relevant to your grade.
  • Continuity of work all year, each year and every year.
  • Opportunities on a regular basis to work overtime and weekends as and when Contracts permit.
  • A quick and honest assessment of your individual efficiency and reliability by your immediate line Supervisor/Manager in order that your pay rate adequately reflects this as just opposed to a CISRS Grade assessment.

NOTE
A CISRS Grade as we all know proves competence but not ability!
  • Regular training and personal development and a potential route to Management if an individual chooses.
  • Respect for “Our workforce and Clients, which are our key assets “plant is plant.”
  • The correct materials serviced and delivered on time and when needed.
  • Experience in Traditional Tube and Fittings, Readylock and Layher Scaffolds.
  • Working for Supervision and Management that have all done what you are required to do on a day to day basis.
  • A genuine and consistent approach to making sure you work safely each day in a site environment that we insist our clients provide for your safety.

WHAT WE DO NOT OFFER
  • We do NOT offer an enhanced pay rate that is just based on an individual’s CISRS Grade, this would be unfair on our current workforce of previous proven ability.
  • We do NOT offer a weekly wage without a reduction for arriving late for work or leaving early!
  • We do NOT offer Continuity of Employment if an individual is not of average efficiency relative to industry normal outputs as daily achieved by their peers, which forms the basis upon which contracts are Estimated by us and our competitors.
  • We do NOT accept any degree of tolerance in relation to YOU working unsafely or being removed from site if any of our Golden Rules are broken, which are:
Temporary segregation of site from surrounding area before work starts
Remember to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and company workwear
Always arrive on site fit for work
Do follow the Safe System of Work
  • We do NOT offer any tolerance in relation to shoddy workmanship – we expect the best.

So if the part 2 is more experienced than the advanced scaff, he will be better paid ???

But a lot of you advanced hold a ticket but not the knowledge
You can have an advanced ticket within 3-4 years of picking up a spanner
So trad bloke is right
Cisrs cards are a buy of a joke tbh

CISRS Cards are not a measure of efficiency or an indication of an individuals ability but they are proof of training and therefore competence,Regulatory bodies such as the HSE together with a Companies Insurers require this proof of training and competence and main Contractors insist on labour that is allocated to work on their Projects being able to produce one.

The CISRS system like any other training scheme may not be perfect but ours is Client led Industry and we are all reliant on Main Contractors for continuity of Business and employment ,TRAD believes a good training programme is essential for the continued well being of any Company, quotes used by others along the lines of " what if we train them and they leave " are easily cancelled by quotes such as " what if we don't and they stay '

A CISRS card and the training in isolation is obviously not a substitute for experience but we are in an environment now where the former must precede the latter.
