Anyone for an 18 month job in Norfolk next year ?

Check out the link below if you are interested, but the ad says:

Linear recruitment have been awarded a large project in 2012, starting at the beginning of the second quarter of the year covering all aspects of Mechanical and electrical engineering. Our clients is one of the leading engineering companies and we are looking to recruit LOCAL Personnel for this prestigious award which is forecasted to last between 18-20 months. With gradual manning levels increasing from the commencement of the project the project will peak at around 100 people. We are going to need each construction discipline covering welding, plating, pipefitting, electricians, instrument pipefitters, instrument technicians, electrical technicians, mechanical technicians, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers. We are also going to be requiring foreman and supervision for this project. The project is in Norfolk and will primarily be using local labour.

Hey johnny, doesnt say scaffolders in the ad ? Also is there any contact numbers ? Thanks

No, you're right U+D, it doesn't.

I just cut and pasted the info from the mail that i had and didn't actually read it, but if you click on the link, the heading lists scaffs, so i'm assuming that they've just been left out of the list in the text.

Anyway, it might be worth a try if anyone is interested and i apologise if it's a wasted call, just trying to help.........

Cheers,

J

Ah yes, perhaps Norfolk doesn't have any scaffolders who are members on here and are looking for work.
Silly posting really, you shouldn't apply of course -waste of time - and again i apologise...........

J

(must make note in diary: Do not post 'local' jobs on Scaffolders forum national website)

You did nothing wrong there Jon mate.
Who gives a f.uck if its 'local' to them? - There MUST be Scaffolders from that area who visit the Forum, so its all good.

Those who have a problem with Jon posting jobs and making the effort to help OTHERS ---> Then i say: F.uck you! get a f.ucking life!

Spot on Jon. :)

totally agree jason, anybody taking the time an effort to put up jobs found on other sites deserves nothing but thanks! so thanks johnny.

I appreciate the support there Jason, thanks.

It won't stop me posting anything that i think might be of help to one of the lads as i know from bitter experience what it's like to be looking for work and getting no where fast

Cheers,

j

Plenty of 'local' Eastern European farm workers there though and it will be quiet for them now, so a perfect opportunity for them all to be re-trained as Advanced Scaffs in two hours and then they can take up all the jobs instead of giving them to Brits !

2 hours?
I found my Scaffolding card under a seat on a bus! ;)

Yes, that's the normal way, but remember that our Eastern European friends sometimes have a problem with the language and so the European Commission for Human Rights has allowed them a 2 hour English language familiarisation period after they have found it under the seat on the bus, so that they can understand some of what's written on it and can b*llshit their way onto site.
We being native speakers do not need this 2 hours......well, most don't, but i've come across one or two in my time who could have benefited from it, ha, ha !!

Steve,
I refer you to my answer to your similar question on the 'Scaffolding Supervisor - Qatar' thread. Try contacting the advertiser, i'm just the messenger.......and a poor one at that it seems !
Good luck again.
