Part 2 or Advanced Scaffolder required **Glasgow** Permanent position

TOTAL JOKE:mad: its no wonder scaffs would rather be on the dole than work for that, its not worthwhile, its not getting any better up here in scotland :sick:

am up in scatland and in my last job i was on 12 an hour, i would'ent get out my bed for 8.50 an hour and am not jokin this must stop :mad: your taking the piss out hard working men, TRY 13-15 AN HOUR THEN U MAY GET SOMEWHERE!!!! :mad:

some fool probably will work for that, i just posted elsewhere the reason why glasgow is like this. years ago the boss of INTERSERVE/KWIKFORM set up a training centre and got his wife to run it, this place was authorised by CITB to train people, this place produced hundreds of guys with scaffolding experience who have went on to populate companies all over glasgow , this meant the wages stayed low at all companies because most guys have no cards , the people who went to this training centre and completed all training were given an SVQ LEVEL 2 CITB CERTIFICATE , they thought they would get a part 2 ticket as it was called , but they didnt , CITB then said to these people they had to go to hillington and do part 1 and part 2 IN EFFECT they created an endless market supply of people who got in the game but were essentially nothing, CITB RUB THEIR HANDS CAUSE NOW ALL THESE GUYS HAVE TO GO TO THEM ,, ive been on tools 14 years offshore for 5 ,, i am one of these people but somehow i managed to keep workin at places luckily, but now i cant get work unemployed 1 year and have just booked part 1 last week , and no they dont ask what experience if any do you have , after a minute the girl was asking for a credit or debit card to pay for it. MY MEMORY IS LONG AND REVENGE IS SWEET, ONE DAY EVERYONE WHO COLLUDED IN THIS WILL PAY, LOTS OF COMPANIES AND ORGANISATIONAL BODIES AND ALSO CERTAIN PEOPLE. thank you.

The guy you're talking about was running Interserve in Glasgow for a short while (Ian something :unsure:) at the same time his wife was running 'Prospects' and a right dodgy outfit it was too. After he was booted out Prospects became a labour only scaffold company with a crowd of poor ***** who had been 'trained' by them.
You done well to last so long mate without being pulled. They were given grants through CITB to train boys up(£1k at the time) along with another clown Malky Ballantyne who made a fortune from them. Later on all these guys found their scaffolding cards were worth absolutely nothing, and would have to be re-trained at official centres.
Places like these certainly didn't help the kind of wages paid in Glasgow but I don't think they are solely to blame. Too many guys are willing to sit back and allow themselves to be **** on by companies/agencies squeezing every penny of profit out of them. It won't stop until scaffs fight their corners for better money.

Im not gonna justify things in London, but its not exactly a cheap place to live... everything costs a fortune down here - compared to other places.

But, we should ALL get decent money and we should ALL get the same, dependant on what qualifications you have.


£8.50 an hour is fukking disgusting.
